What is menopausal neuropathy?

Women may experience a variety of mental problems during menopause, which is called menopausal psychosis. The course of menopausal psychosis is longer, the onset is slower, and it is often accompanied by autonomic dysfunction or endocrine disorders. The most common mental illness for women during menopause is depression, or frequent adverse mental reactions such as fear or anxiety.

Menopause refers to the period of transition from middle age to old age in life, which is 50 to 60 years old for men and 45 to 55 years old for women. The mental illness that occurs during this period is generally called menopausal mental illness. Depending on the different manifestations, it is divided into three types: menopausal syndrome, menopausal depression and menopausal paranoid state.

This disease is more common in women. According to statistics, female patients are 4 to 5 times more than male patients. At present, the cause of menopausal psychosis is still unclear, but researchers believe that endocrine dysfunction, mental factors, personality traits and genetic factors all have a certain impact on the onset of the disease. It is generally believed that the prognosis of paranoid state is worse than that of depression, but it is often not accompanied by intellectual disability or personality decline.

Psychiatric treatment should not be neglected in treatment. Patient explanations should be given to the patient to eliminate his or her concerns. During drug treatment, endocrine preparations can adjust endocrine function; antidepressants can treat depression and pessimism; antipsychotics can treat paranoid states; benzodiazepine FDD6 drugs can improve sleep and relieve anxiety and tension. In addition, electroconvulsive therapy may also be a try for menopausal depression.

It should be noted that a considerable number of female friends, in addition to having many mental problems during menopause, will also have various physical reactions, such as limb numbness or body edema, breast pain, back pain, etc. These adverse physical reactions will in turn make the mental illness more serious, so we should actively regulate our bodies to address the various problems that arise during menopause.
