Why do women bleed for the first time?

After every woman reaches adulthood, she will find a man that suits her and then experience two major events together: marriage and childbirth. Since ancient times, starting a family, establishing a career and reproducing offspring are the responsibilities and obligations that nature has given to each of us. When a woman experiences sexual intercourse for the first time, she will basically experience vaginal bleeding. People in the past called this "seeing blood." Why do women bleed the first time?

During the first sexual intercourse, the hymen is broken and a tear is formed, causing bleeding. Because the hymen has different shapes, the degree of rupture can vary greatly. The septate hymen with two holes will bleed more and be accompanied by more severe pain. The labial hymen bleeds very little and is almost painless. A thicker and more elastic umbrella-shaped hymen may not rupture at all! According to a survey of American gynecologists, about 30% of women do not bleed during their first sexual intercourse. This 30% includes the more elastic umbrella-shaped hymen, which may rupture after multiple sexual intercourses or after a particularly wild sexual journey, but may not necessarily cause bleeding. It also includes the porous sieve-shaped hymen, which is extremely easy to rupture and may have ruptured for various reasons before the first sexual intercourse.

There are mainly the following reasons:

1. Sex life. This is the main reason for rupture of the hymen.

2. Accidents. Because the hymen is relatively fragile, many accidents can cause it to rupture, such as high jumping, horse riding, gymnastics, martial arts and other strenuous sports. Since the shape and toughness of each person's hymen are different, some people's hymen will rupture while others will not during the same exercise.

3. Improper cleaning of the vulva. Many women may also cause rupture of the hymen when cleaning the vulva or inserting tampons improperly.

Through the above introduction, we already know that the reason why most women bleed for the first time is due to the rupture of virginity, but not all women will bleed. This is a very natural physiological phenomenon. In the feudal society, people used whether a woman bleeds for the first time as a basis for judging her chastity, which is unscientific.
