Endometrial polypoid hyperplasia

Endometrial polypoid hyperplasia

Endometrial polypoid hyperplasia is a common female uterine disease. Modern female friends often do not pay attention to their own life patterns, or have improper sexual life, which may cause endometrial polypoid hyperplasia. Patients are very painful and seriously affect their normal life and work. It will also cause some other physical complications. Let us learn about endometrial polypoid hyperplasia together.

Under the continuous action of estrogen, the endometrium undergoes localized hyperplasia of the basal layer, which slowly grows upward and protrudes from the surface of the endometrium. The base is wide at first, and then gradually forms a pedicle, which is a polyp. Polyps can be single or multiple. During menstruation, the lining around the polyps falls off, but the polyps do not. Guidance: Menstrual disorders are one of the prominent symptoms of endometrial polypoid hyperplasia.

Endometrial polypoid hyperplasia can occur in women after puberty, but is more common in women over 35 years old. So we should take it seriously. Single, small endometrial polyps often have no clinical symptoms and are often discovered during gross examination after hysterectomy for other diseases, or diagnosed after diagnostic curettage. Some patients may experience menorrhagia and prolonged menstruation, which is related to the increase in endometrial area and excessive endometrial hyperplasia. Large polyps or polyps that protrude into the cervical canal are prone to secondary infection and necrosis, causing irregular bleeding and foul-smelling bloody secretions.

There are many symptoms of endometrial polyps, the main ones being that the cervix becomes congested or eroded, with purulent secretions discharged from the endocervical canal, and there may be pain when the cervix is touched. Chronic cervicitis may show varying degrees of erosion, hypertrophy, polyps, glandular cysts, and ectropion of the cervix, or purulent secretions at the cervical opening and a hard cervix upon palpation. If it is cervical erosion or polyp, there may be contact bleeding.

Endometrial polyps are composed of the endometrium. The middle part of the polyp forms a fibrous longitudinal axis, which is prone to lesions. The polyp is extremely easy to degenerate and contains blood vessels. Due to the narrow pedicle, the blood supply is reduced. Polyps are most prone to intravascular thrombosis, turning dark purple due to blood stasis, and often begin to necrotize at the top, and may eventually rot and fall off.

There are many methods for examining endometrial polyps, such as ultrasound examination: there are substantial strong echoes in the uterine cavity, and the uterine cavity has abnormal morphology, light masses or filling defects, irregular endometrial lines, and filling defects in the uterus on HSG. Experts recommend that active and effective treatment should be adopted. After the inflammation is controlled, the polyp should be removed by hysteroscopy or surgery and curettage should be performed at the same time, and the tissue should be sent for examination to rule out malignant transformation.

Endometrial polyps are a relatively serious disease in women. Severe illness affects normal life. For patients over 40 years old, if bleeding symptoms are obvious, treatment cannot eradicate the disease or the disease recurs frequently, total hysterectomy may be considered.

The above article gives a detailed introduction to endometrial polypoid hyperplasia. Female friends with uterine diseases must pay attention to their own cleanliness and hygiene, wash and change underwear frequently, eat less spicy and irritating foods, eat more fresh fruits and vegetables, and do appropriate physical exercise. I hope this article will be helpful to everyone.
