Is bleeding after a gynecological examination normal?

Is bleeding after a gynecological examination normal?

Will internal examination cause bleeding? Internal examination is one of the basic gynecological examination methods. It mainly involves observation of the female vagina with a speculum, or internal examination and triple examination of the vagina. Generally, it does not cause pain. However, some young female friends are very afraid when undergoing medical examinations, and they become more and more nervous, especially when doing internal examinations. So, the question of whether internal examinations will cause bleeding is explained in detail below.

1. Internal examination may cause bleeding. Some pregnant women will experience bleeding after internal examination, but there is no need to worry too much about this. It is a relatively common phenomenon. During pregnancy, the cervix dilates, the capillaries are filled, the wall thickness becomes soft, and slight stimulation can cause rupture of small blood vessels. Therefore, bleeding will occur during internal examination.

2. Before the doctor examines the patient's vagina, he will disinfect the patient's vulva and his hands and wear sterile gloves. Generally, infection is not likely to occur, so the patient does not need to worry too much. The vagina itself leads to the outside. Under normal circumstances, bacteria will also appear in the vagina. Although doctors use gloves or equipment in a sterile manner, they will also disinfect them frequently, so it is not easy to cause infection due to examination. Some pregnant mothers worry that such examinations will cause infection or miscarriage, but such concerns are unnecessary.

3. After pregnancy, the gynecologist will perform 1 to 2 vaginal examinations on the pregnant mother. According to the internal examination, bleeding is not uncommon, but it is generally not very serious and will stop in 1 to 2 days. However, if the bleeding is heavy, it is necessary to go to the hospital as soon as possible, otherwise it may cause miscarriage. When the pregnant mother encounters this situation, she should first adjust her mental state, because a normal pregnancy will not cause miscarriage due to vaginal examination.

In general, although bleeding after internal examination is normal, we should not take it for granted and should observe carefully. If any abnormalities are found, we should go to the hospital as soon as possible. It may be a symptom of threatened miscarriage or premature birth. Only through the hospital's B-ultrasound examination can it be ruled out that it is caused by the disease, and then the treatment of fetal preservation can be adopted. Try not to eat foods that are easy to cause bloating before the gynecological examination to avoid affecting the results of the examination.
