What are the Chinese medicines for regulating menstruation?

Many women have experienced symptoms of excessive or insufficient menstrual flow or irregular menstruation, all of which are considered irregular menstruation. Although irregular menstruation has many symptoms, the harm it causes to women is very serious. There are many medicines for regulating menstruation now, but many of them are Western medicines with significant side effects, so many women want to use Chinese medicine to regulate menstruation. But what are the traditional Chinese medicines for regulating menstruation?

The principles of promoting blood circulation and removing blood stasis or warming the meridians and dispersing cold are adopted. Generally, Gexia Zhuyu Decoction can be used. This prescription is composed of Angelica sinensis, Chuanxiong, Red Peony Root, Peach Kernel, Safflower, Citrus aurantium, Corydalis yanhusuo, Notopterygium wilfordii, Moutan Bark, Cyperus rotundus, and Licorice. If the abdominal pain is obvious and there is no red tongue or dry stool, Shaofu Zhuyu Decoction can be used for treatment. This prescription is composed of fennel, dried ginger, Corydalis yanhusuo, myrrh, Angelica sinensis, Chuanxiong, cinnamon, Red Peony Root, Pollen Typhae, and Notopterygium wilfordii. If the condition is not very serious, you can also take Chinese patent medicines, such as Tongjing Pills and Deshengdan. It is best for patients to start taking the medicine 3 to 7 days before the onset of menstruation, one dose per day, decocted twice, taken in two doses, until the abdominal pain during menstruation is relieved. Patients with deficiency syndrome can take several doses after the menstruation is over.

Apply medicine on the navel. 50 grams each of frankincense and myrrh and 3 grams of camphor, grind them into fine powder. Take 50 grams each of angelica, cornus officinalis, and cinnamon, add water and boil twice, concentrate the liquid into a thick state, mix it with an appropriate amount of frankincense and myrrh dissolved in alcohol (95%), dry it, add camphor powder and set aside. When using, take 3 grams of the powder and stir it into a paste with a few drops of rice wine. Apply it to the navel three days before menstruation, and apply it with an analgesic plaster for injuries and dampness. Do it twice a day. Use it for 2 to 5 days to heal.

Irregular menstruation is very harmful to women, so women should regulate their bodies in time. In daily life, women should develop good living habits, drink more water, exercise more, and ensure 8 hours of sleep every day. If you find that you have irregular menstruation, you should pay attention to it. In serious cases, you should go to a regular hospital for medical treatment in time and receive symptomatic treatment.
