Can women do pelvic floor exercises during menstruation?

When women are affected by diseases, they will pay more attention to their physical health, do physical exercises, and also perform corresponding exercises on their organs. For example, ani lifting exercises are suitable for women after childbirth. Even if there are no signs of anal disease, ani lifting exercises can still help the vagina contract. So can women do ani-lifting exercises during menstruation? The body will be weaker during menstruation and may be infected by bacteria, so it is not advisable to do this exercise during menstruation.

The anal lifting exercise is like holding back a bowel movement, lifting the anus upwards, then relaxing, and then lifting it up again, lifting and releasing, repeating this process. Kegel exercises can be performed while sitting, lying or standing. The method is as follows: concentrate your mind, tighten your abdomen, and exhale slowly, while consciously pulling your anus upward. When the air in your lungs is exhaled as much as possible, hold your breath and keep your anus pulled up for 2 to 3 seconds, then relax your whole body, let the air enter the lungs naturally, rest for 2 to 3 seconds, and repeat the above actions; similarly, pull your anus up while inhaling as much as possible, then relax your whole body, and let the air in your lungs exhale naturally. 1 to 2 times a day, 30 times or 5 minutes each time. Avoid rushing for results when exercising and aim for comfort; the key is perseverance. Anal exercises include anal and perineal activities and anal lifting in conjunction with trunk and limb activities. It is recommended not to do pelvic floor exercises during menstruation. You can wait until the menstruation is over before exercising.

During menstruation, patients should pay attention to multi-faceted care to avoid hazards such as dysmenorrhea.

1. Sexual intercourse is not suitable. During menstruation, the endometrium is shed and wounds are formed on the surface of the uterine cavity. During sexual intercourse, it is easy for bacteria to be brought into the uterus and then go up into the uterus, causing intrauterine infection, adnexitis, and pelvic inflammatory disease.

2. Do not eat too much salt. Eating too much salt will increase the salt and water storage in the body. Headache, excitement, irritability and other symptoms will occur on the eve of menstruation. You should start eating low-salt food 10 days before the menstruation.

3. Do not drink tea during menstruation as it can easily increase the loss of iron molecules. Normally, a certain amount of iron, an important element for synthesizing hemoglobin in the human body, is lost every day. But for women, with the large amount of blood lost during menstruation, more iron will be lost than usual. If you drink tea during this period, it will undoubtedly increase the loss of iron. Because tea contains 50% tannic acid, it will combine with the iron molecules in food to form precipitates, hindering the absorption of iron molecules by the intestinal mucosa. The stronger the tea, the less the body can absorb the iron molecules. Therefore, try not to drink tea at this time, and eat some iron-rich foods to supplement iron.

4. It is not advisable to sit in a bath. During the menstrual period, sitting in a bath or taking a bath in a tub with the cervix slightly open can easily allow sewage to enter the uterine cavity and cause inflammation of the reproductive organs.

5. It is not advisable to wear tight pants. If you wear tight pants with a small hip circumference during menstruation, the local capillaries will be compressed, thereby affecting blood circulation and increasing perineal friction, which can easily cause perineal congestion and edema.

Can women do ani exercises during menstruation? It is not advisable to do strenuous exercise during menstruation, and in order to avoid anal bacterial infection, this exercise should be avoided. Of course, patients can perform simple anal lifting exercises appropriately. Such exercises will not stimulate the anus and will not affect menstrual changes. Therefore, patients must be cautious when performing anal lifting exercises during menstruation. They can follow the doctor's instructions to exercise and avoid many accidental injuries.
