Mom has indigestion problem

Mom has indigestion problem

When a breastfeeding mother experiences indigestion, we recommend that she regulate her body in a timely manner. Also, at this time, it is best not to breastfeed the baby, because the medication will enter the breast milk and affect the baby's health. If mom suffers from indigestion, you should maintain a balanced diet, reduce the secretion of gastric acid, and walk more.

After pregnancy, the pregnant woman's physiological condition will change, which may cause indigestion symptoms such as loss of appetite, nausea, vomiting, etc. Indigestion is a common condition among pregnant women. This is because the progesterone content in the body of pregnant women increases. Due to the action of progesterone, gastrointestinal motility is weakened and gastric acid secretion is reduced. In addition, the gradually enlarging uterus compresses the gastrointestinal tract, hindering digestive activity.

1. Detect gastric acid

Lack of stomach acid is the direct cause of indigestion, and you can do a stomach acid self-test. Take one tablespoon of apple cider vinegar or lemon juice. If this makes the heartburn go away, then you need more stomach acid (you can drink pure apple juice mixed with water during meals). If this makes your symptoms worse, you have too much stomach acid and should stop taking medications that increase stomach acid.

2. Maintain a balanced diet

Eat a balanced diet rich in fiber, such as fresh fruits, vegetables and whole grains such as whole grains. Need to chew slowly.

3. Avoid certain foods

Avoid refined sugars, bread, cakes, pasta, dairy products, caffeine, oranges, tomatoes, green peppers, carbonated drinks, potato chips, junk food, fried food, spicy food, red meat, beans, and cola. Reduce salt intake. Processed foods, junk foods and all dairy products stimulate the mucous membrane to secrete excess stomach acid, leading to protein indigestion. Limit your intake of peanuts, lentils, and soybeans, as they contain an enzyme inhibitor.

4. Pay attention to food combinations

Protein and starch, vegetables and fruits are not a beneficial combination. It is best not to consume milk with meals. Sugar and protein or starch are not conducive to digestion when consumed together.

5. Taking acidic drinks

Mix one tablespoon of pure apple cider vinegar with a glass of water and sip it with your meals to aid digestion. Drinking a glass of lemon water first thing in the morning has a therapeutic effect.

The above provides a detailed analysis of how to deal with indigestion in mothers. We hope that mothers can deal with indigestion according to the methods introduced in the article. In the case of indigestion, it may be caused by hot weather or gastrointestinal disease. You need to check it out before taking medicine.
