What causes hemorrhoids in women?

Hemorrhoids are currently an anorectal disease with a very high incidence rate. We have also heard that nine out of ten people have hemorrhoids, but many people do not pay much attention to hemorrhoids. However, hemorrhoids have a great impact on our normal life and work, and sometimes bring a lot of inconvenience. Comparatively speaking, women are more likely to suffer from hemorrhoids, mainly due to different physiological structures. Let’s talk about why and how hemorrhoids are caused in women.

1. Due to their different physiological structures, women are more likely to have their pelvic organs compressed and their blood flow obstructed, which can cause pelvic congestion and blood stasis, affect anal blood circulation, cause rectal compression, block the passage of feces, and cause difficult defecation, which can eventually induce hemorrhoids.

2. Women have two special periods: menstruation and pregnancy. During these periods, the anal burden on women often increases. Some women often experience difficulty in defecation and prolonged intervals during menstruation or pregnancy, and only defecate once every 2-3 days. This not only makes hemorrhoids more likely to occur, but can also make them worse.

3. The postpartum period after pregnancy is also a period when hemorrhoids are more likely to occur. The incidence of hemorrhoids after childbirth is very high. After giving birth, the mother's abdomen is empty and the urge to defecate becomes dull. In addition, the abdominal wall relaxes and activity decreases, which can cause hemorrhoids.

4. In addition to pregnant women, menopause is also a high-incidence period for hemorrhoids in women. Women often experience endocrine and neurological disorders during menopause, which make people irritable and feel like they need to defecate but cannot defecate completely, causing them to go to the toilet frequently, which is also the cause of hemorrhoids.

Hemorrhoids are a simple anorectal disease, so they generally do not affect women's normal fertility. However, during pregnancy, the increased abdominal pressure can easily aggravate the symptoms of hemorrhoids. Sometimes, severe cases may even cause blood in the stool. Therefore, women should pay enough attention to hemorrhoids and seek treatment as soon as possible. If the situation is serious, surgical removal can be used.
