Why does a woman's period come back a week after it ends?

Menstruation can be said to be a symbol of femininity. Starting from the first menstruation, women will have menstruation every month, which lasts for about a week until the due period. This is the normal process, however, some people do have two periods in one month. Of course, the second bleeding is not necessarily related to menstruation, it may be caused by other gynecological diseases. So, what is going on when a woman has her period again a week after the end of her period?

This situation is likely to be irregular menstruation. There are two main reasons for irregular menstruation:

1. Caused by neuroendocrine dysfunction: mainly the unstable or defective function of the lower hindbrain--stomach-ovary axis, that is, menstrual disease.

2. Caused by organic diseases or drugs, including local inflammation, tumors and developmental abnormalities of the reproductive organs, malnutrition; intracranial diseases; other endocrine dysfunctions such as thyroid and adrenal cortex dysfunction, diabetes, Sheehan's disease, etc.; liver diseases; blood diseases, etc. Menstrual irregularities may occur in women who use drugs to treat mental illnesses, endocrine preparations, or intrauterine devices for contraception. Certain occupations, such as long-distance runners, are prone to amenorrhea. In addition, some abnormal bleeding during pregnancy is often mistaken for menstrual irregularities.

In clinical diagnosis of neuroendocrine dysfunctional menstrual disorders, the above-mentioned organic causes must be excluded.

It may also be functional uterine bleeding, which is a common and multiple gynecological disease. It mainly refers to abnormal menstruation, that is, irregular vaginal bleeding without obvious organic lesions of the internal and external genitalia, referred to as "functional uterine bleeding". Traditional Chinese medicine classifies it as "menorrhea" or "menorrhea".

Many women may be curious about why their period comes again a week after it ends. However, it is still recommended that if you have two periods in a month, it is best to go to the hospital for a check-up, because you cannot be sure whether this is caused by irregular menstruation or other diseases. If it is menstrual irregularities, then you should adjust your diet.
