How to take a bath when pregnant

We have taken a bath a lot since we were young. Although we take a bath every day, we have never washed our bodies seriously like doing something. In everyone's mind, the skin is already very clean after taking a bath every day, and there is no need for excessive cleaning. However, pregnant women attach great importance to bathing, because women are more serious about doing things. In addition, after pregnancy, the skin sweats a lot and the body is greasy, so they will take a bath more frequently. So how should pregnant women take a bath?

1. Pay attention to the safety of bathroom equipment

The bathroom is often wet and slippery, and is the most slippery place in the home. If you are not careful, it may cause injuries and fractures to the head, coccyx and limbs, which is very dangerous. It is even more dangerous for expectant mothers to fall, which may cause unfortunate events such as miscarriage or premature birth. Therefore, the most important thing for pregnant women when bathing is to prevent falls. Therefore, the safety and anti-slip equipment in the bathroom must be complete, such as:

1. Lay a non-slip mat on the bathroom floor and clean it regularly to avoid catching too much dirt.

2. Stable handrails should be installed around the walls.

3. The washbasin should be installed firmly. Someone once slipped and grabbed a sink in an emergency, but because the sink was not installed firmly, he fell and hit his foot, causing a serious fracture.

4. Try to reduce the amount of clutter in the bathroom, such as chairs, basins, baskets, etc., to avoid tripping; if they need to be placed, place them aside and put them together.

5. Buy a storage rack (double or triple layers, and must be properly fixed) to place all small bathroom supplies, such as shampoo, shower gel, soap boxes, combs, hair dryers, etc., to prevent them from being scattered everywhere and causing inconvenience in use, or even causing people to trip and increase danger.

2. Choose the right bathing products

Bath products should be neutral, non-irritating, without strong fragrance, and moisturizing to avoid harming the sensitive skin of expectant mothers. because:

1. If you use inappropriate bath products, you may experience allergic reactions such as dry skin, peeling, or even rashes.

2. If you use bath products with too strong fragrance, it will not only be irritating, but also smell uncomfortable and easily cause dizziness. So by the same token, you should not put air fresheners in the bathroom, because they are irritating to pregnant women and fetuses. Just keep the bathroom clean and odor-free.

3. You can’t take a hot bath, you can only take a shower

Within 12 weeks of pregnancy, expectant mothers should not take a hot bath to prevent harm to the development of the fetus. A large amount of clinical data shows that a high temperature environment can easily cause fetal anencephaly or brain nerve defects. Taking a hot bath may cause uterine infection if you do not pay attention to reproductive health or have reproductive system diseases.

Even in the middle and late stages of pregnancy, it is not advisable to take a hot bath. A shower at a suitable temperature is sufficient. We know that the blood circulation of expectant mothers is different from that of ordinary people. If they experience excessive stimulation from cold or hot water, the adjustment of their heart and brain load is often different from that of ordinary people. They are prone to shock, dizziness or collapse due to blood circulation disorders, and unnecessary dangers may occur.

How should pregnant women take a bath? Pregnant women need to pay attention to many aspects when taking a bath. The first is bathing safety, which is a very important part of bathing.
