What should I do if I have labia ulcers due to candidal vaginitis?

Fungal vaginitis is what we commonly call Candida vaginitis. Candida is a single-cell fungus that exists on everyone's skin. Under certain external conditions, Candida can invade the human body and cause inflammation, especially in the female reproductive tract. This is a very terrible disease. Next, let’s talk about the related issues of labia ulceration caused by candidal vaginitis.

symptom

Vulvar itching and a lot of white, bean curd-like leucorrhea are the main symptoms of this disease. It may be accompanied by a burning sensation in the vulva, urinary urgency, dysuria, and pain during sexual intercourse. When the symptoms are severe, the patient will be restless and suffer extreme pain.

Signs

Examination revealed swelling of the vulva, exfoliation of the epidermis, and possible scratches. There is a white film-like substance attached to the inner side of the labia minora and the vaginal mucosa. After wiping it off, redness, swelling or erosion of the vaginal mucosa and superficial ulcers can be seen. Typical leucorrhea is white, clot-like, and okara-like, with a slightly foul odor. 80-90% of VVC is caused by Candida albicans, and a small number of VVC can be caused by Candida glabrata, Candida parapsilosis or Candida tropicalis. Candida albicans are oval, single-walled cells distributed in groups, with blastospores and pseudohyphae formed by cell germination and elongation.

Candida is not heat-resistant and will die if heated to 60℃ for one hour, but it is highly resistant to dryness, sunlight, ultraviolet rays and chemical agents. About 10% of non-pregnant women and 30% of pregnant women have vaginal Candida parasites without symptoms. When the glycogen in the vagina increases and the pH value decreases, Candida can easily multiply and cause inflammation.

Therefore, it is more common in pregnant women, diabetic patients and those who use estrogen; after large-scale long-term use of antibiotics, the normal flora in the vagina is suppressed and Candida overgrows; long-term use of immunosuppressants or glucocorticoids can reduce the patient's immune function.

They can follow the doctor’s advice, actively cooperate with the doctor’s treatment, maintain a healthy and objective attitude, take some medications to control the disease, and develop good hygiene habits.
