Why does leucorrhea have an odor and are yellow?

Every woman will have leucorrhea secretion, which can lubricate the vagina and resist the invasion of foreign bacteria to the vagina. Normal leucorrhea is white and transparent, with a slightly fishy smell. However, not everyone's leucorrhea is like this. Some people have symptoms such as yellow leucorrhea and odor due to certain diseases. So, what causes this leucorrhea to have a peculiar smell and be yellow in color?

1. Fungal vaginitis: The vaginal discharge of this type of inflammation is usually yellow or white in color, viscous and sometimes thin, but it has a very special feature that it is in the form of curds or tofu dregs;

2. Trichomonas vaginitis: When this type of inflammation occurs, the leucorrhea is generally pus-like, foamy, yellow in color, and accompanied by a foul odor;

3. Bacterial vaginitis: When there is this kind of inflammation, the leucorrhea is generally grayish yellow or grayish white, thin and even, and has a special smell, with a fishy odor.

4. Chronic cervicitis or cervical erosion: This is a very common gynecological disease. In this case, the amount of leucorrhea will generally increase, and it will be grayish white and accompanied by an odor.

5. Senile vaginitis. The discharge is yellow and bloody. It is mainly aimed at elderly women whose ovarian function is declining, estrogen levels are reduced, local resistance is poor, and inflammation is caused by the invasion of pathogens.

6. Foreign objects have entered the reproductive organs: There are gauze, tampons, menstrual plugs, etc. in the vagina. Some women have placed contraceptive devices because their uterus is not suitable for some reason. All of these will stimulate the reproductive organs and increase the amount of leucorrhea.

The above six reasons may cause women's leucorrhea to appear abnormal symptoms such as yellowing and odor. If you find that your leucorrhea is abnormal, you should pay attention to see a doctor in time, because this is a warning to people. If you cannot actively treat it, the condition will become more serious and the harm to the body will be greater.
