What to do if female genitals itch

Some female patients have vulvar itching, which seriously affects the health of female patients. Therefore, once female patients have this problem, they need to pay attention to timely examination. Most of these problems are caused by external vaginal inflammation, so there is no need to worry too much. So what should women do if their vulva itches?

The factors that cause itching of the female genital area include:

1. Pinworm infection: It mainly affects young girls, but adult women can also be infected. When the anus relaxes at night, pinworms crawl out of the rectum and swim to the vulva to mate and lay eggs, and irritate the skin and mucous membranes of the vulva, causing local itching.

2. Scabies infection: When scabies occurs, the external skin lesions are the most serious, so local itching is also very obvious.

3. Local skin uncleanness: Some women use toilet paper improperly, and the skin of the vulva is soaked by menstrual blood, vaginal secretions, and even urine, feces and sweat, which causes chronic inflammation of the local skin and leads to vulva itching.

4. Fungal vaginitis: redness of the vulva and vagina, vaginal itching, dregs-like leucorrhea with odor, and scratching can cause eczematous changes of vulvar dermatitis.

5. Vaginal trichomoniasis: Itching of the vulva and vagina, foamy leucorrhea, often accompanied by a special odor, and eczematous changes in the vulva after scratching. A vaginal smear test can be used to distinguish it from the above conditions. Do not clean blindly by yourself.

6. Pubic lice: Pubic lice often stick to the skin surface or attach to the roots of pubic hair. Pubic lice eggs are grayish white and the size of a needle. The bites of pubic lice and their venom and excrement can cause itching of the skin, desquamation, and secondary eczema-like changes and folliculitis.

Patients with vulvar itching should pay attention to timely gynecological prevention to avoid worsening of the condition due to this problem, which may lead to other gynecological diseases that affect the patient's physical health. In particular, many gynecological diseases are caused by inflammation, so patients should pay attention to the cleanliness of the vulva.
