Normal women of childbearing age have menstruation once a month, and the period from the beginning of this menstruation to the first day of the next menstruation is called a menstrual cycle.

From the perspective of contraception, each menstrual cycle of women can be divided into menstrual period, ovulation period and safe period. Generally speaking, women of normal childbearing age only release one egg from their ovaries each month. The egg can survive for 1 to 2 days after release, and the sperm can survive for 2 to 3 days in the female reproductive tract. The fertilization ability is mostly within 24 hours after ovulation. If it exceeds 2 to 3 days, the sperm will lose the ability to combine with the egg. Therefore, if you have sexual intercourse 2 to 3 days before ovulation and 1 to 2 days after ovulation, you may get pregnant. This period is called the fertile period or dangerous period.

After the menstruation is over, the cervical mucus is often thick but less in quantity, or even without mucus, which is called the "dry period", indicating a non-ovulation period. In the middle of the menstrual cycle, with the change of endocrine, the mucus increases and becomes thinner, and the vaginal secretions increase, which is called the "wet period". Near the ovulation period, the mucus becomes clear, smooth and elastic, like egg white, with high stringiness and not easy to break. The last day of the appearance of this mucus ± 48 hours is the ovulation day. Therefore, when the vagina feels moist, it is the ovulation period, also known as the "fertile period". Planned conception should be chosen in the "wet period" before the ovulation period.

After menstruation, you must calculate the time of pregnancy carefully, which can better help you get pregnant. Especially for young couples, you must learn more about common sense in preparing for pregnancy, especially the preparations for pregnancy.
