Normal blood sugar range test for pregnant women

After a pregnant woman becomes pregnant, due to her diet and the lack of physical exercise, she will develop high blood sugar and high blood pressure. Also, after a pregnant woman becomes pregnant, her immunity decreases, which can cause high blood sugar in the pregnant woman. So, let's take a look at the normal range of high blood sugar in pregnant women.

(1) Urine sugar test: Urine sugar test should be performed on all pregnant women who are diagnosed for the first time. If the result is negative in the early pregnancy, the test should be repeated in the middle and late pregnancy. During normal pregnancy, especially after 4 months of pregnancy, the ability of pregnant women's renal tubules to reabsorb glucose is reduced. Sometimes blood sugar levels are within the normal range, but diabetes occurs due to a decrease in the renal glucose excretion threshold. Physiological lactosuria may also occur during postpartum lactation. Therefore, those with positive urine sugar test need to undergo further fasting blood sugar and glucose tolerance test to confirm the diagnosis.

(2) Blood glucose measurement: The blood glucose level of normal pregnant women is generally lower than the normal value, rarely exceeding 5.6mmol/L (100mg/dl), and the fasting blood glucose level is usually 3.3-4.4mmol/L (60-80mg/dl).

(3) Hemoglobin A1 (HbA1) measurement: Blood glucose, glycosylated serum protein and glycosylated HbA1 can all be used as indicators to reflect the degree of diabetes control. But the meanings are not exactly the same. Blood glucose concentration reflects the blood glucose level at the time of blood collection; glycated serum protein reflects the average (total) blood glucose level 1 to 2 weeks before blood collection; glycated HbA1 and HbA1c reflect the average (total) blood glucose level within 8 to 12 weeks before blood collection. During the life cycle of red blood cells, hemoglobin is slowly glycosylated to produce HbA1. The amount of change in HbA1 is based on the average blood sugar level. In non-diabetic people, the HbA1 level is about 4%, and in diabetic patients it can be as high as 20%. However, blood sugar levels can be reduced after the patient is treated and controlled. HBA1 can be further divided into HBA1a, HbA1b, and HbA1c. HbA1c accounts for the largest proportion, and measuring HbA1c can replace the HbA1 level.

From the article above, we learned about the normal range of high blood sugar in pregnant women. First of all, pregnant women can choose some nutritious foods to supplement the nutrients in the body, to strengthen their nutritional exercise, and do some food nourishment.
