Standard indicators of weight gain during mid-pregnancy

We all know that the mid-pregnancy weight gain standard can well judge the relevant situation of a pregnant woman, so our height and weight must have a matching standard. As long as it looks comfortable, it can be called a matching standard. I believe that many people are still vague about the mid-pregnancy weight gain standard. Many people are full of doubts and interests about this issue. Let us learn about the mid-pregnancy weight gain standard together.

1. The speed of weight gain varies at different stages of pregnancy. The recommended average weekly weight gain for each period of pregnancy is as follows: 0.65 kg per week from 0 to 10 weeks of pregnancy; 0.335 kg per week from 10 to 20 weeks; 0.45 kg per week from 20 to 30 weeks; and 0.33 kg per week from 30 to 40 weeks. Under normal circumstances, a woman will gain about 4 kilograms of fat on her body after she becomes pregnant. During the 10th to 30th week of pregnancy, the embryo has not yet grown rapidly, and the mother's body fat increases fastest during this period. After 30 weeks of pregnancy, the fetus grows rapidly, while the increase in the mother's body fat tends to slow down.

2. The increase in body fat during pregnancy is a reserve of energy needed for lactation in the late pregnancy or after delivery, which is extremely important for lactation. During pregnancy, fat is stored in the abdomen, back, and upper thighs. The weight of a pregnant woman is an important indicator of nutrition during pregnancy. Too much or too little gain is detrimental to the health of both mother and child. If a child is too large, with a birth weight greater than 4 kilograms, it is called macrosomia, which is a pathological weight. The baby is prone to various complications such as postpartum hypoglycemia after birth. Even if the symptoms are not manifested immediately after birth, the risk of subsequent obesity, hyperlipidemia, hypertension, cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases, and diabetes in adulthood will be significantly increased. Therefore, starting in the second trimester, you should weigh and record your body weight every week, and adjust your food intake based on weight gain. The appropriate target weight gain during pregnancy varies depending on your pre-pregnancy weight. The following standards can be used as reference: 1. If the pre-pregnancy weight exceeds the standard weight by 20%, the appropriate weight gain during pregnancy is 7 to 8 kilograms. Because the pre-pregnancy weight exceeds the normal, only necessary weight gain needs to be considered during pregnancy. Starting from the second trimester, the weekly weight gain should not exceed 300 grams. 2. If the weight before pregnancy is normal, the appropriate weight gain during pregnancy is 12 kg, and the weekly weight gain starting from the second trimester is 400 grams. 3. For women whose pre-pregnancy weight is 10% lower than the standard weight, the target weight gain during pregnancy is 14 to 15 kg, and the weekly weight gain starting from the second trimester is 500 grams.

The above content introduces us to the standard of weight gain in mid-pregnancy. We can all judge the height and weight of pregnant women around us to determine whether they meet the normal standards of height and weight. If not, we must actively choose the correct method for treatment. Losing weight can effectively restore our weight to normal.
