Treatment of cervical ectropion

Treatment of cervical ectropion

There are many kinds of problems with the cervix. Our female friends are very concerned about topics such as the cervix. Because with the rapid development of today's society and the improvement of quality of life, some diseases have also begun to wreak havoc. Cervical ectropion is a disease with a very high incidence rate nowadays. So how can we better solve this problem? This disease prevents many of our female friends from having a normal sex life. Let us learn about the treatment methods of cervical ectropion.

Treatment:

1. Medication

There are many drug treatments for chronic cervicitis, the following are commonly used:

(1) Local vaginal irrigation and topical medication are the most commonly used treatments.

(2) Vaginal lateral fornix blockade can be used for patients with chronic cervicitis complicated by paracervical connective tissue inflammation, lumbosacral pain, and significant cervical lifting pain that seriously affects their sexual life.

2. Other treatments

(1) Electrocoagulation: In the past, radial electrocautery was used, which took a long time to heal (6 to 8 weeks). Currently, electrocoagulation is used to iron out the entire erosion, so it is also called electric ironing. For specific operations, first place the electric iron and routinely disinfect the vulva, vagina and cervix. Use a vaginal speculum to expose the cervix, bring the electric iron head into contact with the eroded surface, and iron evenly, with the range slightly exceeding the eroded surface. The depth of electric ironing is about 0.2cm. Too deep may cause bleeding and slow healing; too shallow may affect the efficacy. After electric ironing, spray the wound with furacillin powder or apply chloramphenicol glycerin.

(2) Cryotherapy is a type of ultra-low temperature treatment, where the cooling source is liquid nitrogen at a temperature of -196°C. During treatment, select an appropriate probe based on the severity of the erosion. To improve the therapeutic effect, the freeze-thaw-freeze method can be used, that is, freezing for 1 minute, thawing for 3 minutes, and freezing again for 1 minute. Its advantages are simple operation, and rarely bleeding and cervical stenosis occur after surgery. The disadvantage is that there is a lot of vaginal discharge after surgery.

(3) Laser treatment mainly causes the eroded tissue to carbonize and form a scab. After the scab falls off, the wound surface is covered with new squamous epithelium.

(4) Physical therapy should be performed within 3 to 7 days after the end of menstruation and is contraindicated in cases of acute genital inflammation. Vaginal secretions increase after physical therapy, and the vulva should be kept clean. Bathing, sexual intercourse and vaginal douching should be avoided before the wound heals (4 to 8 weeks after surgery). If cryotherapy is performed, the patient should be asked whether he or she has a history of heart disease before the operation, and an electrocardiogram should be performed if necessary.

The above content introduces us to the relevant treatment methods of cervical ectropion. We should all know about it. Female friends should pay more attention to this knowledge. When female friends themselves have this problem, they can receive timely and effective treatment and get rid of the troubles of the disease as soon as possible.
