What causes itchy nipples?

Women are naturally very careful, but because they focus on work and family, they usually ignore some small signals from their bodies. For example, if your nipples are itchy, just scratch them and apply some medicine if the itching is not severe. When the condition becomes serious, you realize that things are not as simple as you imagined. You start to get anxious, but you miss the best time for treatment.

So what diseases are nipple itching related to? Is it necessarily serious? What is the more common nipple itching related to? Is it difficult to treat? I believe that many people who have symptoms of nipple itching will have a lot of confusion, and the following is an explanation.

Related to nipple itching: 1. Mastitis: Nipple itching is one of the typical symptoms of mastitis. Local breasts will experience itching, tenderness, nodules with unclear boundaries, swelling and pain, etc. 2. Breast hyperplasia: If nipple itching is paroxysmal and changes with the menstrual cycle, it is considered to be a proliferative lesion. 3. Breast cyst: Nipple itching is not a common symptom of breast cyst, but breast cysts may cause itching, pain or swelling when accompanied by inflammation. 4. Breast fibroadenoma: Breast fibroadenoma is an abnormal proliferation of fibrous tissue, single or multiple hard lumps, generally not accompanied by itching. In a small number of cases, breast fibroadenoma is accompanied by breast hyperplasia, at which time there may be symptoms such as nipple itching, pain and discomfort. 5. Breast cancer: 48% of breast cancer patients experience varying degrees of nipple itching and tingling, which gradually worsens and involves the shoulders and back. About 13% of breast cancer patients have nipple itching as an early symptom, and in 6% of these patients, nipple itching is the only early symptom. In the late stage of breast cancer, the nipple itching and pain are severe and unbearable.

Through the above introduction, we can understand that there are many diseases related to nipple itching, the most common one is mastitis, and the most serious one is breast cancer. Therefore, women who experience symptoms such as itchy nipples must not take it lightly. They should go to the hospital and ask a professional doctor to make a judgment, follow the doctor's advice, and actively cooperate with the treatment. After all, your health is the most important thing and you can’t be careless about it.
