Evening Science | Some cancers don’t need vaccines, perhaps because the survival rate is too high…

Many people are very curious: Why do some cancers already have vaccines on the market and some cancer vaccines are under development, but almost no one considers making vaccines for some cancers?

Is there a possibility that there is no need for vaccination because the 5-year survival rate is too high, for example:

1. Basal Cell Carcinoma: A type of skin cancer that usually occurs on skin exposed to the sun. It grows very slowly and rarely metastasizes to other parts of the body. If detected and treated promptly, the 5-year survival rate is close to 100%;

2. Prostate Cancer: When detected in the early stages, prostate cancer is very effective to treat, with a 5-year survival rate of over 98%;

3. Breast Cancer: When detected and treated early, the 5-year survival rate of breast cancer is also very high, reaching over 90%;

4. Thyroid Cancer: The 5-year survival rate of thyroid cancer is also very high, usually exceeding 90%;

5. Endometrial Cancer: This type of cancer is very effective when discovered in the early stages, with a 5-year survival rate of over 90%.

Of course, the high survival rate of the above-mentioned cancers is based on "timely detection" and "standardized treatment", rather than being dealt with by some unfounded judgments and meaningless "therapies". For example, if nodules are found in the breast, you should go to the hospital as soon as possible for treatment, rather than using any "dispersing medicine".
