As the new coronavirus epidemic is at its peak, the China Health Management Association hosted a special event on "Scientific Epidemic Prevention and Health for the People - Protection and Treatment of Special Populations during the Spring Festival Travel Season". On the topic of "How to Provide Emergency Treatment for Special Populations", Professor Wang Lixiang was specially invited to discuss the prevention, treatment and rescue of sudden cardiac death in special populations during the Spring Festival Travel Season.

Sudden cardiac death is the biggest threat to human life. It refers to the unforeseen acute natural death caused by cardiac arrest within a moment to an hour. From ancient times to the present, cardiopulmonary resuscitation, which allows the heart to beat again, has become the protagonist of resurrection. The medical saint Zhang Zhongjing invented the chest compression life-saving technique, modern doctors Wang Yuanchang, Kouwenhoven, and Peter Safer discovered the chest compression artificial respiration cardiopulmonary resuscitation technique, and contemporary doctors Wang Lixiang and others developed abdominal compression cardiopulmonary resuscitation... They performed a series of heart chapters of fighting death and saving lives. Although the benevolent doctors of ancient and modern times have created many life-saving methods and equipment, the success rate of cardiac arrest rescue in my country has not yet gotten out of the "three lows" dilemma of 1%; based on the Western "survival chain" of rescue, Chinese scholars have proposed a new concept of prevention and treatment of "survival ring", and emergency science popularization has injected new vitality into the sudden cardiac death caused by COVID-19.
