Counterpoint Research: Samsung's sales in April 2022 increased by 9% year-on-year, and its global share increased to 24%

Due to the Galaxy Note7 incident, Samsung's reputation in China has plummeted, and in recent years it has long been relegated to the "other" category in the domestic market sales chart. Although it is not "welcome" by domestic users, Samsung is still invincible in the global market, and is even becoming more and more prosperous.

Statistics from Counterpoint Research show that in April, the global smartphone market shrank by 8%, falling to its lowest point since the outbreak.

However, Samsung's performance was somewhat "abnormal", with sales increasing by 9% year-on-year, which increased Samsung's global mobile phone market share to 24%, and it has been growing for three consecutive months and has firmly held the top spot.

Another more significant significance of 24% is that this is Samsung's highest value since April 2017 (25% share).

The report attributes Samsung's growth to the outstanding performance of the Galaxy S22 series and the good performance of Samsung's mid- and low-end mobile phones in the Indian and Latin American markets.
