AdDuplex: Survey finds Microsoft holds 80% of Windows RT device market

Data shows that the market share of Windows RT devices is basically monopolized by Microsoft. According to AdDuplex, Microsoft has a large share of 80% in the Windows RT device market. There are two versions of Windows 8 system - the full version of Win8 and the castrated version of WinRT. WinRT is mainly used for tablet devices and is equipped with ARM chips. For WinRT, the application market it enjoys is very limited; users can only download applications that support the system in the Windows Store.

As of now, there are more than 50,000 applications in Windows Store, but most of them are not of good quality.

The first picture shows that WinRT plays only a very small role in the Win8 family; the second picture shows that on a global scale, after all, the biggest player in WinRT is Microsoft itself.

Microsoft's OEM manufacturers can't seem to see any big profits from it, so they are unwilling to spend a lot of money to promote WinRT devices. Now, Microsoft is not only a software company, but also has begun to join the ranks of hardware manufacturers.

Of course, if Microsoft wants to change the current severe situation of WinRT, it must improve the quality of application support in Windows Store. If these software can attract consumers, it will inevitably increase the sales of WinRT devices.
