Early detection and early treatment are the key points. Regular eye examinations should be carried out from the beginning of the disease:

1. When a patient is diagnosed with diabetes, they should immediately undergo a comprehensive eye examination and establish a relevant case file;

2. For diabetic patients without fundus lesions, it is recommended to dilate the pupil and examine the fundus once every 6 to 12 months;

3. For diabetic patients who have developed fundus lesions, they should be examined once every 3 to 6 months and receive timely treatment;

4. Women with gestational diabetes should have their fundus examined once every 3 months.
