If a child has this disease, no matter how many training classes he takes, it will be useless!

Now when you walk on the street, as long as you hold a little friend in your hand, many salespeople will take the initiative to hand over various toys to the little friend, and then introduce you to various training classes, claiming that they can cultivate children's concentration, imagination, judgment, self-control, thinking ability, etc. Are you a little tempted?

However, we often tend to overlook important things: 90% of the information a baby receives comes from his eyes. The baby's eye development is closely related to his learning ability. Studies have found that more than 90% of the information is input through the visual pathway. Rich information stimulation helps promote the rapid development of the central nervous system, thereby helping to enhance the baby's learning ability.

Among eye diseases in children, amblyopia not only causes poor vision in children, but also leads to damage to many important visual functions, such as accommodation, scanning vision, tracking ability, spatial discrimination ability, contrast sensitivity and hand-eye coordination ability. Even if there are more training courses, I am afraid it will only be half the result with twice the effort. In addition, the country often regards vision as an important hurdle in enrollment or recruitment. For example, navigation, aviation, mechanical manufacturing, etc. have strict requirements on vision and stereoscopic vision. If you lose the right opportunity due to amblyopia, wouldn’t it be a lifelong regret?

amblyopia

Amblyopia is a common eye disease in children. On average, about 1 to 5 children out of 100 suffer from the disease. Children's vision matures gradually, with 0-12 years old being the sensitive period for visual development, and 0-3 years old being the critical period. The visual system is very fragile during the critical period. Even briefly covering one eye during infancy can cause deprivation amblyopia. Studies have shown that improper single-eye covering for 7 days can cause irreversible amblyopia.

Don't be careless! Be alert to these small details

1. Children always fall down when walking, especially when going up and down stairs. This is because children with amblyopia lose their stereoscopic vision, that is, they lack spatial and three-dimensional sense of the distance, convexity, depth, thickness and thickness of things.

2. The writing often overlaps, is not neat, and is not in line;

3. Children read slowly: For example, children with amblyopia read much more slowly. This is because the scanning and following movements of the eyes of children with amblyopia are slower, which can directly affect the speed of reading;

4. Fear of light, and get irritated when seeing light: Children with amblyopia are usually afraid of light, so they get irritated when seeing light;

5. Always look at things very closely: The amblyopic eye has poor vision, and it is difficult to see things both far and near. It is even more difficult to see things in poor light, and the ability to distinguish the size, brightness, and shape of objects is slow.

Dai Hongbin, member of the Standing Committee of the Ophthalmology Branch of Hubei Provincial Association of Traditional Chinese Medicine, chief physician, and director of strabismus, amblyopia and pediatric ophthalmology at Wuhan University Aier Eye Hospital, reminded that the success rate of amblyopia treatment decreases with the patient's age. Therefore, once diagnosed, treatment should be given immediately, otherwise the age exceeds the sensitive period of visual development, which may lead to permanent vision defects.
