What will happen if the vehicle's gasoline filter is clogged? Can the built-in gasoline filter be washed?

Every car has a gasoline filter, which plays a filtering role. Over time, many small impurities accumulate, so it needs to be replaced regularly. There are internal, external and gasoline pump gasoline filters, all of which need to be replaced regularly.

What will happen if the vehicle's gasoline filter is blocked?

If we think that the power of the vehicle is obviously worse and the speed of increase is obviously slower, it means that the filter element may be blocked. When the gasoline filter element is blocked, the amount of gasoline passing through the gasoline filter element will be greatly reduced, resulting in insufficient fuel supply pressure and flow.

If the vehicle accelerates poorly and the oil pressure drops significantly when tested with a fuel pressure gauge or the fuel pump data stream is read with a diagnostic instrument, it may be that the gasoline filter is clogged. Although it is said that domestic gasoline is dirty, this situation rarely occurs.

When replacing the external gasoline filter, the fuel pressure must be released, that is, unplug the fuel pump fuse or relay or fuel pump, get off the car, and then try it several times without pressure relief. Then you can replace it, otherwise the fuel supply system is a pressure system and will spray. After the change, check whether there is any leakage.

Can the built-in gasoline filter be washed?

The filters and filters on the car can be cleaned and washed, but it is generally not recommended to clean them, because the built-in gasoline filter is generally troublesome to disassemble. The built-in gasoline filter is installed inside our fuel tank, and the filter is installed on our gasoline pump, so if we want to disassemble the built-in gasoline filter to clean it, it is actually very troublesome.

Moreover, the effect of the gasoline filter after cleaning is not as good as that of a new one, and it may even damage the car. The price of the gasoline filter is not expensive. It is better to replace it. When the oil filter is replaced during the major maintenance, it will be replaced directly. It will not take long.

How many kilometers does it take to change the car's built-in gasoline filter?

Compared with the oil filter, the gasoline filter does not need to be replaced at the same frequency as the oil filter. It can usually be considered for replacement after the 8th to 10th oil change (based on an oil change frequency of 8,000-10,000 kilometers).

The external gasoline filter of the car needs to be replaced every 30,000-50,000 kilometers, and the internal one needs to be replaced every 100,000 kilometers. Since the internal one is inconvenient to replace, the internal filter is generally larger and has a longer service life, which is convenient for future maintenance.
