If there is no breast protection measure for a long time and the breasts are often loose in daily life, it is easy to cause various diseases, including breast nodules, breast edema or breast obstruction and so on. In more serious cases, it may also cause breast tumor problems, which requires everyone to receive regular medical care. Some women’s breasts hurt when touched. What is the reason why their nipples are always hard and painful when touched?

My nipples are always hard and hurt when I touch them

1. Breast pain during puberty: Girls first experience breast pain between the ages of 9 and 13. At this time, girls' breasts begin to grow and develop, and at first the nipples become protruding and there is a slight feeling of swelling and pain. After the first menstruation, it will disappear on its own as the breasts grow and develop during puberty.

2. Breast pain in the early stages of menstruation: Many women experience breast swelling, hardening, and tenderness during their first menstruation. In severe cases, the breasts may swell and become uncomfortable with just a slight vibration or impact, and the original granules or lumps may become more noticeable. It is caused by the increase in estrogen levels in the body before menstruation, breast hyperplasia, and edema of the breast tissue. After the menstrual period, the shift subsides. Experts remind that female nipple pain is often a symptom of breast disease. If the nipple pain occurs frequently, you should go to the hospital for diagnosis as soon as possible.

What are the symptoms of nipples that are always hard and painful when touched?

1. Breast lumps: There may be one or more lumps on one or both breasts, mostly on the outer upper side of the breast, in the form of flakes, lumps, particles or cords, mostly flakes, with unclear boundaries, medium or slightly hard, loose and without adhesion to surrounding tissues, may cause dull pain, lumps of different sizes, small ones like sand, some can exceed 3-4CM. The breast lumps enlarge before menstruation and become smaller and looser after menarche.

2. Breast pain: general or bilateral breast pain, stabbing pain or dull pain, severe pain that cannot be touched or walked, pain dominated by rapid swelling of the breast, and can radiate to the armpits, chest, shoulders, arms, and upper limbs. Some also present as nipple pain or itching. The pain fluctuates with changes in mood and menstrual cycle, often aggravated before menstruation or when angry, depressed, and significantly relieved or disappeared after menarche.

If the problem of breast pain cannot be alleviated for a long time, it may further deteriorate. Especially during breastfeeding, this symptom will be more obvious, and may even affect the baby's ability to breastfeed. Everyone must pay attention to maintaining a regular schedule, adjusting a healthy diet, and protecting the natural environment around the breasts.
