At what age is it normal for girls to have menstruation

Under the regulation of endocrine, the uterine wall produces a reaction from proliferation to metabolism, regular shedding and bleeding, that is, menstruation, which is one of the manifestations of the maturity of male reproductive organs. The normal age for girls' menarche is between 11 and 18 years old, and most of them have their first period between 13 and 15 years old. The menstrual cycle is generally 21-35 days, with an average of 28 days. Before a girl's first menstruation, her breasts begin to grow, her height grows rapidly, and some have already grown pubic hair or underarm hair. However, the actual age of menarche is closely related to personal growth and development. For girls with higher estrogen levels, they will have their periods at the age of 9-11.

A woman's first menstrual period is also called the first menstruation. The arrival of the first menstrual period is a sign of entering puberty and is also the process of gradual improvement of the uterine-ovarian axis. Menstruation occurs because of the thickening of the uterine wall and the effect of estrogen, which causes the uterine wall to fall off. Under normal circumstances, the age of first menstruation is usually between 10 and 19 years old.

For most girls, 12-15 years old is the time when they have their first menstruation, which is the most common time. The first menstruation means the creation of the uterine-ovarian axis, the creation of the hypothalamic-pituitary-uterine-ovarian axis. However, the first menstruation does not mean that the uterine-ovarian axis is complete. It is possible that menstruation will only occur several months after the first menstruation. In the 1-2 years of the first menstruation, irregular menstrual cycles are acceptable. However, if you still have irregular menstruation after 2 years, you need to go to the hospital for examination to see if you have any endocrine disease.

The first menstruation of a woman is called menarche, commonly known as "first menstruation". The first menstruation usually occurs around the age of 13-15 years old. It can be as early as 11-12 years old for those who are strong and well-nourished, and as late as 17-18 years old for those who are weak and malnourished. Menarche before the age of 8 is precocious puberty. Women's menstruation is regulated by the hypothalamus-pituitary-uterine-ovarian gonadal axis. Mental factors, emotional fluctuations, changes in the natural environment, pregnancy, age, disease, medication, and health conditions can all cause abnormalities in the function of this gonadal axis and lead to menstrual disorders.
