Nose bleeding during pregnancy

Nose bleeding during pregnancy

Nosebleeds during pregnancy cannot determine the gender of the fetus. Pregnant women should not have such misunderstandings. They should also pay attention that nosebleeds during pregnancy are caused by the influence of estrogen on vasodilation. Pregnant women need to adjust the secretion of estrogen. They can also apply ice packs to the nose to reduce blood circulation. If we want to know the sex of the fetus, we can choose to have an ultrasound examination in the second trimester.

Nosebleeds are common during pregnancy, so expectant mothers don't need to worry too much. There are rumors online that nosebleeds in pregnant women are a sign of giving birth to a boy. In fact, nosebleeds in pregnant women have nothing to do with the gender of the baby. It is just the influence of body hormones that causes some pregnant women to be prone to nosebleeds.

Because the amount of estrogen in the blood after pregnancy increases 25-40 times compared to before pregnancy. Under the influence of estrogen, the nasal mucosa swells, local blood vessels dilate and become congested, and are prone to rupture and bleeding. Usually the bleeding occurs on one side of the nose, and the amount of bleeding is not much, or there is only blood in the nasal discharge. Since most nosebleeds occur in the front and lower part of the nasal septum, you only need to press the nose wing on the bleeding side against the nasal septum or stuff a small ball of clean cotton into it and press again to stop the bleeding. If bilateral nostril bleeding occurs, you can pinch the nostrils on both sides with your thumb and index finger to compress the bleeding area in the front and lower part of the nasal septum for a little longer (about 5 minutes); then apply a cold towel (change it from time to time) or an ice pack to the forehead and nose to promote local vasoconstriction, which can reduce bleeding and accelerate hemostasis. When you have a nosebleed, don't panic, stay calm, because mental stress will increase your blood pressure and intensify bleeding. If blood flows to the back of the nose, you must spit it out and not swallow it, otherwise it will irritate the gastric mucosa and cause vomiting. When vomiting, nose bleeding will inevitably increase. If the nose bleeding continues after taking the above measures, you must go to the ENT department of the hospital for treatment as soon as possible.

Characteristics of having a boy

A pregnant woman's body will undergo some changes after becoming pregnant, such as an enlarged belly and the formation of a pregnancy line. The internal environment of the pregnant woman will also undergo corresponding changes due to pregnancy. Some people believe that by observing these changes, one can roughly estimate whether the pregnant woman is carrying a boy or a girl. Characteristics of having a boy include:

1. The belly is pointed, which increases the chances of having a boy.

2. A protruding belly button means it's a boy.

3. The pregnancy line is thin, long and straight.

4. The fetal sac in the early B-ultrasound is long and narrow. For example: The gestational sac in the ultrasound at 52 days of pregnancy is 4.2×2.1×1.4.

5. The value of biparietal diameter-femur length is greater than 2.

6. Pregnant women with anterior placenta are more likely to have a boy.

7. If the pH value in urine test during pregnancy shows an upward trend, it means you are pregnant with a boy.

8. In the later stages of pregnancy, due to the increase in male hormones when carrying a boy, the pregnant woman's thighs, armpits, areola and neck will turn black.

9. If the tip of a pregnant woman's nose becomes bigger, it means she is pregnant with a boy.

However, experts advise that the above methods are for reference only and cannot be guaranteed to be accurate. In fact, the method of determining the baby's gender based on pregnancy reactions is not much better than the method of flipping a coin.
