The incidence of breast diseases has been relatively high in recent years, so we should pay attention to it.

Female armpit pimples

Many people have experienced pain and lumps in the armpits, and some people are even experiencing this. In fact, armpit pain and lumps are a problem that requires special vigilance, because this condition may be benign and not a problem, or it may be a malignant disease that can be very serious. So what causes pain and lumps under the armpits?

First of all, armpit pain may be caused by swollen lymph nodes under the armpit. Lymph nodes are tissues on the surface of the human body that are distributed throughout the body. The lymphatic tissue under the armpit is abnormally rich and is more prone to swelling. Once this situation occurs, it will seriously affect people's daily lives, so timely measures must be taken.

There are many types of swollen lymph nodes. Some are simply inflammation within the lymphatic system. Generally speaking, they are not very serious and only require active treatment to eliminate inflammation. However, some swollen lymph nodes are caused by tumor metastasis, which requires immediate vigilance. Another possibility is that there is a problem with the lymph nodes themselves, such as lymph node tuberculosis or lymph node tumor. Generally speaking, enlarged lymph nodes that are accompanied by pain indicate an infection in the lymph nodes, while swelling without pain often indicates a tumor in the lymphatic system.

What tests should be done for swollen lymph nodes

Lymph nodes are an important barrier to maintain our body's health. Swollen lymph nodes are common and can occur in people of all ages and with a variety of illnesses. For example, patients with thyroid and breast diseases who visit our department often have swollen lymph nodes in the neck and armpits; for patients in the head and neck surgery and hematology departments, the earliest abnormal symptom discovered is sometimes swollen lymph nodes; for some people, their lymph nodes will swell once they have a cold or sore throat. When encountering this situation, people often worry and fear that they may get a tumor. In fact, most lymphadenopathy is benign. When we find swollen lymph nodes, we must find out the cause and actively treat it.

It is most important to distinguish between different types of lymphadenopathy. When we find swollen lymph nodes, we can roughly judge whether it is benign or malignant based on the length of time the lump has appeared, the softness and hardness of the lump, whether there is pain, whether the lump has become larger and more numerous, and whether there are other discomforts in the whole body. Lymph node enlargement lasts for a short time, feels soft, and is painful or tender. It is generally benign and may be caused by acute or chronic inflammation or other chronic diseases. If the lymph nodes do not go away for a long time, are as hard as a rock, are painless or tender, and increase in number and size over time, you should be alert to the possibility of a tumor.
