Leucorrhea with inflammation

Leucorrhea with inflammation

Leucorrhea is a barometer of women's health. Under normal circumstances, women's leucorrhea is white and transparent, and has no odor. If the color and properties of leucorrhea change, it means that there is something wrong with your health, which needs to be taken seriously. There are many reasons for abnormal leucorrhea. Most of them are caused by gynecological inflammation. In life, in which cases does leucorrhea indicate inflammation in the body?

Which condition of leucorrhea indicates inflammation?

1. Yellow watery sample: It is yellow or yellow-green, watery, and has a fishy and foul smell. If there is heavy menstruation, you should be alert to uterine fibroids.

2. White cheese-like leucorrhea: It is white, sticky, cheese-like or tofu-like, and accompanied by severe itching of the vulva. This is probably a common symptom of Candida albicans vaginitis. Candidal vaginitis is one of the common vaginal inflammations, affecting 15%-20% of non-pregnant women and 20%-40% of pregnant women.

3. Yellow-green: There are two possibilities for the appearance of yellow-green leucorrhea. The first is desquamative inflammatory vaginitis, which is more common in postmenopausal women because their estrogen levels decrease after menopause. When the vaginal skin or walls become thinner, the vagina may shrink, become red, and inflamed, and yellow or yellow-green discharge may appear. The second type is Trichomonas vaginitis, which is mostly transmitted through sexual intercourse. Women with the disease will have a large amount of green or yellow vaginal discharge, which is sometimes foamy and has a fishy smell, and is often accompanied by itching.

4. Bloody or brown: If the leucorrhea is stained with blood, it may be a sign of cervical cancer or endometrial cancer. This condition is more likely to occur in women with less frequent menstruation or in menopause.

5. Light gray: Consider bacterial vaginosis. Nearly 30% of women who have given birth have this infection. Bacterial vaginosis is the most common cause of abnormal vaginal discharge, which causes the discharge to increase in volume, appear grayish white, and have a foul, unpleasant fishy odor.

How to judge whether a woman's leucorrhea is normal

1. Leucorrhea volume

Under normal circumstances, the amount of vaginal discharge is relatively small, but during the ovulation period, the amount of vaginal discharge will increase, which is mainly affected by the estrogen level in the body. If the amount of leucorrhea is very small or even absent, it indicates that the ovaries are functioning poorly. If the amount of leucorrhea is large, it may be related to vaginal inflammation, cervical disease, etc.

2. Leucorrhea color

Normal vaginal discharge should be white or colorless and transparent. If the color of leucorrhea is yellow, grayish white, yellow-green, bloody, brown, or black, then there is abnormal leucorrhea, which is often related to diseases such as vaginitis, cervicitis, pelvic inflammatory disease, and cervical polyps.

3. Leucorrhea texture

Normal vaginal discharge is thinner and slightly sticky. If the texture of the leucorrhea appears to be tofu dregs-like, foamy, watery, or purulent, then it is considered abnormal. It is generally related to candidal vaginitis, Trichomonas vaginitis, pelvic inflammatory disease, cervicitis, cervical cancer, etc.

4. Leucorrhea odor

Normal leucorrhea has a slightly fishy smell but no odor. If the leucorrhea has a fishy or smelly smell, it means there is a gynecological problem.
