Leucorrhea like pus

Leucorrhea like pus

If you unconsciously find that your leucorrhea is like pus and has some symptoms of purulent leucorrhea, you must pay attention to it, because this kind of leucorrhea will make your body become particularly bad after it occurs, and some clinical manifestations will appear one after another, accompanied by itching of your vulva, especially at night. The itching symptoms will become more obvious and affect normal sleep time.

What is the cause of pus-like leucorrhea?

1. Colorless, transparent, sticky leucorrhea: It is egg white-like and similar in properties to the mucus secreted by the cervical glands during ovulation, but the amount is significantly increased. Generally, the possibility of chronic endocervicitis, ovarian dysfunction, vaginal adenosis, or well-differentiated cervical adenocarcinoma should be considered.

2. White or grayish yellow foamy leucorrhea: a characteristic of Trichomonas vaginitis, which may be accompanied by vulvar itching.

3. Curd-like leucorrhea: a characteristic of candidal vaginitis, often accompanied by severe vulvar itching or burning pain.

4. Gray, homogeneous leucorrhea with a fishy smell: common in bacterial vaginosis.

5. Purulent leucorrhea: yellow or yellow-green, sticky, and often smelly. It can be caused by acute vaginitis, cervicitis, and endocervicitis caused by bacteria such as Trichomonas or gonococci. Pyometra, cervical cancer, vaginal cancer or foreign objects retained in the vagina can also cause purulent leucorrhea.

6. Bloody leucorrhea: If there is blood in the leucorrhea, cervical cancer, endometrial cancer, cervical polyps or submucosal fibroids should be considered. Insertion of an intrauterine device can also cause bloody leucorrhea.

Possibility of tube cancer.

Grade I: A large number of vaginal epithelial cells and vaginal bacilli are seen under the microscope.

Grade II: Vaginal epithelial cells, a small amount of white blood cells, some vaginal bacilli, and a small amount of miscellaneous bacteria or pus cells are seen under the microscope.

Grade III: A small amount of vaginal bacilli, a large number of pus cells and miscellaneous bacteria are seen under the microscope.

Grade IV: No vaginal bacilli are seen under the microscope, and except for a small amount of epithelial cells, there are mainly pus cells and miscellaneous bacteria.

Grades I to II are normal, while grades III to IV are abnormal leucorrhea, indicating vaginal inflammation.

Because increased leucorrhea is not a specific symptom of this disease, gonorrhea, candidal vaginitis, and Trichomonas vaginitis can all present clinical symptoms of increased leucorrhea. Most patients with this disease are women of childbearing age. The disease has a slow onset and the subjective symptoms are not obvious, with the main manifestation being increased leucorrhea. Examination of vaginal discharge has the following characteristics:

(1) The pH value is higher than normal, reaching 5.0 to 5.5.

(2) The vaginal discharge is gray or gray-green, homogeneous, and has a paste-like consistency and may contain many bubbles.

(3) There is a foul smell like rotten fish. The odor of women becomes worse after menstruation or sexual intercourse, and the same odor may also be emitted from the genitals of their sexual partners.

(4) A small number of patients with concurrent Trichomonas or Candida infection may experience vulvar itching, vaginal burning sensation, or pain during sexual intercourse.
