The relationship between low testosterone and menstruation

Many people may not have encountered the condition of low testosterone. Even if it happens, it is impossible to determine the real cause of the disease at the first time. After all, the symptoms of this condition are not so obvious, especially for female friends. The symptoms are also very mild. Only as the disease worsens, the patient will develop renal failure, or very obvious conditions such as frailty and illness.

Testosterone is derived from cholesterol. The male testicles can produce large amounts of testosterone, while the female ovaries, placenta, and the zona reticularis of the male or female adrenal glands also secrete small amounts of testosterone. Hypogonadism, male testicular disease, coronary atherosclerosis, exogenous androgen intake, etc. can affect serum testosterone concentration.

Increased: seen in idiopathic male precocious puberty, familial male precocious puberty, adrenal hyperplasia, adrenal cortical tumors (adenocarcinoma increases significantly, adenoma also often increases), testicular tumors, testicular feminization, polycystic ovary syndrome, ovarian masculinizing tumors, pineal tumors, idiopathic hirsutism, etc. Intake of drugs such as barbiturate sedatives, clomiphene, gonadotropin and oral contraceptives. 2. Decreased: seen in Down syndrome, uremia, myotonic dystrophy, liver dysfunction, primary and secondary gonadal insufficiency (Klinefelter syndrome, Kallman syndrome, etc.), cryptorchidism, etc. In addition, it is also seen in patients with hyperthyroidism, cirrhosis, renal failure, severe trauma, and long-term illness.

First, animal offal. It contains more cholesterol, which is an important ingredient in the synthesis of sex hormones. In addition, it also contains adrenaline and sex hormones, which can promote the division and maturation of spermatogonia. Therefore, eating animal hearts, livers, kidneys, intestines and other internal organs in moderation can help increase the level of androgen in the body, increase semen secretion, and improve sexual function.

Second, foods containing zinc. Zinc is an indispensable trace element for the human body and plays an important role in maintaining the normal structure and function of the male reproductive system. Zinc deficiency can reduce sperm count, affect sexual desire and cause sexual dysfunction. Research results in recent years have shown that zinc deficiency is related to what Chinese medicine calls "kidney yang deficiency". The food with the highest zinc content is oyster meat. Other foods such as beef, milk, chicken, chicken liver, egg yolk, shellfish, peanuts, cereals, beans, and vegetables all contain a certain amount of zinc.
