Maternity care knowledge

Nowadays, many people don’t know how to take care of themselves after giving birth, so they can’t find any methods of care. In fact, postpartum care knowledge is very important. First of all, you need to pay attention to getting out of bed and exercising in time after giving birth after your body recovers. This can promote uterine contraction and speed up the excretion of lochia. In addition, you should also pay attention to activity and rest to avoid venous thrombosis in the lower limbs.

Methods/Steps

The benefits of semi-recumbent position after delivery: 1. It can promote the elimination of vaginal lochia.

2. For women who have undergone cesarean section, it can reduce the pain of wound incision and promote wound healing.

Postpartum care knowledge

Postpartum care knowledge

Maternal personal hygiene: Many mothers follow many old customs after giving birth, saying that they cannot wash their hair after giving birth. In fact, mothers can wash their hair, wash their face, brush their teeth, and cut their nails. You can take a bath after a normal delivery and clean the vulva at least twice to avoid infection. However, it should be noted that mothers who have given birth normally are prohibited from having sexual intercourse within 42 days after delivery, as they are very likely to get infected. Women who have undergone caesarean section are not allowed to touch water with their surgical wound for half a month, and are prohibited from having sexual intercourse for two months.

Three normal physiological phenomena after childbirth.

1: Puerperal sweat: In the early postpartum period, due to vigorous secretion of sweat glands, a large amount of sweat is excreted, which is more obvious at night and when waking up. It will improve on its own one week after delivery.

2: Postpartum uterine contraction pain: The severe paroxysmal pain in the lower abdomen caused by uterine contractions in the early postpartum period is called uterine contraction pain. It appears 1-2 days after delivery and disappears naturally in 2-3 days. Increased lactation.

3: Lochia: It usually lasts for 1-1.5 months. 3-4 days after delivery, there is bright red blood, which is called lochia. Four days after delivery, light red blood begins to appear, which is called serous lochia and lasts for 10 days. After 10 days, white viscous liquid appears, which is called white lochia and lasts for 3 weeks.
