Side effects of female injections

Side effects of female injections

Blockade acupuncture is a common method of treating diseases in clinical practice. This treatment method mainly delivers drugs to the nerve trunks, joint capsules, pain points and other parts of the body, thereby achieving the effect of relieving pain. Although the blocking injection has achieved certain effects in clinical practice, from a health perspective, this method is not suitable for everyone. So what are the side effects of blocking injections for women?

A blocking injection refers to a blocking injection, which is a mixture of a certain concentration and volume of methylprednisolone injection and procaine hydrochloride (or their similar drugs) and injected into the diseased area.

Blockade therapy is to inject certain drugs into pain points, joint capsules, nerve trunks and other parts, which can play an anti-inflammatory and analgesic role, and relieve spasms. This type of treatment can inject drugs directly into the local lesion and exert the greatest therapeutic effect at the local lesion. From the perspective of its mechanism of action, blockade to treat pain in the neck, shoulders, waist and legs is a symptomatic treatment. There are many treatment methods used in medicine, including antipyretic, antihypertensive, diuretic, etc. Although these methods cannot fundamentally eliminate the cause of the disease, they can reduce or even eliminate symptoms and prevent complications. After one or several closed-type treatments, many patients with neck, shoulder, waist and leg pain symptoms completely disappear and never recur. Therefore, it cannot be absolutely assumed that closed treatment cannot eliminate the root cause of the disease.

For safety reasons, patients with hypertension, gastrointestinal ulcers, diabetes, and mental illness should use closed injections with caution.

Like other medications, prednisolone has side effects. Although prednisolone-type drugs are not addictive, long-term, high-dose, and repeated use can cause habituation and dependence (when giving a blocking injection in a regular hospital, the doctor will strictly control the dosage according to the patient's condition, and this situation rarely occurs), and may produce the following side effects: centripetal obesity, body shape changes, hairy skin, beard growth in female patients, decreased body resistance to infection, slower wound healing, aggravation of gastrointestinal ulcers, and induction of hypertension, mental illness, osteoporosis, aseptic necrosis of the femoral head, etc.

Although this type of hormone is not addictive, long-term use can lead to habit and dependence. Habitual refers to the long-term and repeated use of hormones to relieve symptoms. Dependence means that after certain diseases are treated with hormones, the symptoms can be completely controlled or partially relieved, but suddenly stopping the hormones or reducing their dosage too quickly will cause the disease to relapse or worsen immediately, resulting in the so-called "rebound" phenomenon. Both of these situations may only occur after long-term, high-dose, and repeated use of hormones. Orthopedics uses blockade therapy, usually once or several times depending on the condition of the disease. Each use should be done 7-10 days apart and generally should not be used continuously more than 3-4 times. If you need to continue this treatment, the intervals should be longer and the dosage should be reduced. Therefore, as long as the medication is used according to the above principles, habituation and dependence will generally not occur. Like other medications, corticosteroids have side effects. The main symptoms are: centripetal obesity, which causes changes in body shape, hairy skin, and even beards in female patients; it can lead to a decrease in the body's ability to resist infection and slow wound healing; it can aggravate gastrointestinal ulcers and induce hypertension, mental illness, osteoporosis, aseptic necrosis of the femoral head, etc. These complications only occur after long-term, high-dose, repeated use of the drug. Generally, short-term local blockade treatment will not cause these adverse reactions. For safety reasons, doctors always use hormone drugs with caution or prohibit the use of hormone drugs in patients with severe hypertension, gastrointestinal ulcers, diabetes, mental illness, etc.

Corticosteroids, like all medicines, have side effects. Such as centripetal obesity, body shape changes, hairy skin, and even beards in female patients; it can also lead to a decrease in the body's ability to resist infection and slow wound healing; it can also aggravate gastrointestinal ulcers, induce hypertension, mental illness, osteoporosis, aseptic necrosis of the femoral head, etc. However, this is a phenomenon that only occurs after long-term, high-dose repeated use. Generally, short-term local blockade treatment will not cause these reactions. For safety reasons, doctors always use it with caution in patients with severe hypertension, gastrointestinal ulcers, diabetes, mental illness, etc. To prevent infection, closed injections should be performed in a medical unit. Wash the skin with soap and water before closure and disinfect strictly. Observe for 15 minutes after injection to prevent allergic reactions and other reactions. Be sure to keep the skin clean and prevent contamination within 3 days after closure.
