Does vomiting during menstruation mean pregnancy?

Women may experience various symptoms of physical discomfort during their menstrual period. For example, there may be fever, cold, and body aches. Sore legs and feet, back pain. Some people may also experience vomiting. Women may worry whether vomiting is a sign of pregnancy. You cannot take birth control pills or any contraceptive measures during menstruation. Vomiting usually occurs during pregnancy, but does vomiting during menstruation mean pregnancy?

(1) Every month or so, the endometrium undergoes a cyclical change with autonomous thickening, blood vessel proliferation, glandular growth and secretion, and endometrial collapse and shedding accompanied by bleeding. This periodic vaginal discharge or uterine bleeding is called menstruation.

(2) Some patients come to the clinic just a few days after their menstrual period because of nausea, vomiting, etc. These patients have had several similar visits and are not actually pregnant. At this point, the patient may be suffering from a pseudopregnancy, which refers to a condition in which a woman experiences symptoms similar to pregnancy, such as cessation of menstruation, nausea, vomiting, and even conscious fetal movement and abdominal distension, but it is not a real pregnancy, and no pregnancy can be seen inside or outside the uterus under ultrasound.

(3) There are many causes of false pregnancy, most of which are related to environmental stress, such as a bad relationship with the husband, or untreatable infertility. At this time, nausea and vomiting are physiological changes caused by psychological factors. Caused by psychological factors - because of the inner desire to get pregnant, some pregnancy-like symptoms will appear in the body. Usually, in this type of false pregnancy, the human chorionic gonadotropin will not increase. Caused by disease - For example, female patients with lupus erythematosus will have increased levels of chorionic gonadotropin in the blood, resulting in pregnancy-like symptoms. Therefore, if ultrasound examination shows no signs of pregnancy, but human chorionic gonadotropin is present in the blood, referral to internal medicine for detailed examination is usually recommended.

(4) Whether you are pregnant or not needs to be based on the results of regular tests conducted in a professional hospital. Ask your doctor to diagnose whether you are pregnant. Through regular prenatal checkups, it is easy to avoid the confusion of false pregnancy. Don't make random guesses or jump to conclusions blindly, as this may hinder the process of normal pregnancy. "False pregnancy" occurs mostly because women themselves are unwilling to face the problem of their difficulty in conceiving. The best way to treat infertility is to go to a professional hospital to see a gynecologist or expert in obstetrics and gynecology.
