We all know that vulvar cyst is a common disease among female friends. Many women go to the gynecology department of many hospitals to see vulvar cysts. If the cyst is serious, the patient will feel pain and itching near the vaginal opening, and even grow some excess fat. Therefore, it is particularly important for female friends to always pay attention to their private hygiene. So, what should we do if there is a cyst at the vaginal opening? Vulvar cysts are most commonly found in the labia majora and perineum, and occur in the deep tissue under the epidermis of the vulvar skin or mucosa. The cysts may be solitary or multiple. However, it is often misdiagnosed as a sebaceous cyst. In fact, sebaceous cysts of the vulva are rare, and most of them are epidermal cysts, whose contents are keratin. Epidemiology: Vulvar epidermoid cyst is a common vulvar cyst, mostly occurring in middle-aged women. Vulvar cysts are the most common tumors on the female vulva, and the cysts usually occur on both sides of the vaginal opening. The inflammation is caused by the invasion of pathogens. In China, the pathogens of this disease are mostly cocci, streptococci, Escherichia coli, and gonococci. In addition, there are anaerobic bacteria, among which Bacteroides are the most common. Because Bacteroides are normal parasites in the vagina, there are more chances of infection. Its formation is related to a pair of glands on both sides of the vaginal opening. This pair of glands is called "Bartholin's glands". The mucus secreted by them can lubricate the vaginal opening, making it easier for couples to have sex. Because the Bartholin's gland is only the size of a bean and the gland duct is long and thin, people usually cannot feel it. If the gland duct becomes inflamed, the opening of the duct is blocked, and the secretions cannot be discharged, a retention cyst will form. It is worth noting that many patients do not seek treatment after being diagnosed with the disease. This is an extremely wrong idea, and neglect of treatment may lead to more serious consequences. Therefore, actively choosing a regular hospital for thorough treatment is the key to restoring health. Causes There are several possible causes of vulvar cysts: 1. Derived from the residual tissue of ectoderm that differentiates into epidermis. 2. Blockage of the sebaceous gland duct of the hair follicle. 3. It is caused by surgical trauma, resulting in small pieces of epidermis being implanted into the dermis. This situation is more common in places where surgery has been performed, such as perineal incision sutures and perineal repairs. Clinical symptoms It grows slowly and generally has no special symptoms. There are single or multiple round lumps with a diameter of about 1 cm in the skin or subcutaneous of the perineum. They are hard in texture and slightly raised on the skin surface, but there are no pores on the skin surface and they can move with the skin. |
