When it comes to spots, most of us probably think that they only appear in people over 40 years old. Spots that appear after middle age are mostly chloasma and age spots. There is another type of spot that appears in adolescence or even in childhood, called freckles. Freckles are closely related to heredity. They may be passed directly to children or to the next generation. There is currently no way to block the inheritance of freckles. So don’t panic when we have freckles on our faces, freckles can be faded. So what should you do if you have freckles? Freckles are a type of skin lesion that occurs on the face and appear as small, sesame-like brown or light brown spots. The most common areas for it to occur are the cheeks and the bridge of the nose, but it can also spread to the entire face and even the neck. It is one of the most common causes that affect facial beauty. Most of them are acquired, but some patients are congenital. However, whether it is congenital or acquired, it is closely related to genetic factors. In other words, patients with freckles have certain qualities. People with this quality will develop freckles under the influence of some external factors (such as sun exposure, dry skin, etc.). Depigmentation treatment: 3% to 5% hydroquinone cream, 0.1% retinoic acid ointment, 3% to 5% arbutin cream, 20% azelaic acid cream, 1% kojic acid cream, etc., can have certain effects if used externally for several months. Corrosive and destructive treatments: In the past, liquid nitrogen freezing, trichloroacetic acid or phenol spot application, mechanical grinding, high-frequency electricity, ordinary CO2 laser and other treatments have been used to remove freckles, but the above treatments are not selective for skin lesions and often cause some sequelae. Careful operation is required. Too deep treatment can easily cause depressed scars or hypertrophic scars, and may lead to pigmentation or hypopigmentation. At the same time, the treatment process is painful and difficult for patients to accept. Laser selective treatment: Modern Q-switched lasers and large Q lasers are highly selective in the treatment of freckles and are currently the best methods for treating freckles. Preventive Care: 1) You should avoid excessive exposure to sunlight, especially in the summer. When going out, you should hide in the sun or use sunscreen. 2) Eat more fresh fruits and vegetables rich in vitamin C and vitamin E. 3) Avoid taking photosensitive drugs and foods, such as psoralen, methoxypsoralen, etc. 4) Keep a happy and cheerful mood; avoid worrying and depressed mental state. 5) Do not use medication randomly; if necessary, please use medication reasonably under the guidance of a doctor. |
