Generally speaking, as long as female friends have their menstruation, they will have an ovulation period every month. Usually the ovulation period is about 14 days before the next menstruation, and only one mature egg can be discharged from the body during ovulation. However, some female friends are a little different. They have multiple eggs with different degrees of development at the same time. So what is the reason for this situation? 1. Caused by endocrine disorders Polycystic ovary syndrome is an endocrine and metabolic disorder with two characteristics: one is ovulation disorder or loss, and the other is excessive male hormones in the patient's body. Studies have found that some patients with secondary amenorrhea have polycystic ovary syndrome, and anovulatory infertility is caused by this disease. It can be seen that for young patients with polycystic ovary syndrome, the biggest threat is infertility. Recent studies have shown that the causes of PCOS are related to metabolic disorders such as type 2 diabetes, dyslipidemia and cardiovascular disease. Therefore, there are long-term complications and it has received much attention from the medical community in recent years. 2. Genetics Currently, the cause of PCOS is still unclear, and people speculate that it may be a polygenic genetic disease. This type of patients has a certain familial clustering. Many of the patients' fathers have hirsutism, acne, seborrheic dermatitis, and premature baldness, while their mothers and sisters often have infrequent menstruation and infertility. 3. Infertility Infertility is often caused by menstrual disorders and anovulation, and is often the main reason for seeking medical treatment. 4. Bilateral ovarian enlargement In a small number of patients, gynecological examination may reveal that the bilateral ovaries are 1 to 3 times larger than normal and feel firm. In most patients, enlarged ovaries need to be discovered through auxiliary examinations such as B-ultrasound and are not easily detected by clinical examinations. The development, maturation and ovulation of follicles all take place in the ovaries. Once the endocrine system is disturbed, the normal development of follicles in the ovaries will be inhibited, and a mature dominant follicle cannot be selected, making ovulation and conception impossible. The follicles that cannot develop normally remain in the ovaries, causing the ovaries to become hard and enlarged, which directly affects women's menstruation and fertility. |
