What is uterine cold and how to treat it?

What we usually call uterine cold mainly refers to the insufficient kidney yang qi in female friends, with symptoms such as lower abdominal distension, excessive leucorrhea, dysmenorrhea, and irregular menstruation. Experts say that patients with uterine cold should eat warm foods, insist on brisk walking, and pay attention to keeping warm during and after exercise, especially not taking a shower immediately after sweating, otherwise it will aggravate the symptoms of uterine cold.

1. What is uterine cold

The so-called uterine cold refers to the lower abdominal distension and pain caused by insufficient kidney yang in women and the lack of warmth in the uterus, which is relieved by heat. The main symptoms are excessive leucorrhea, dysmenorrhea, irregular menstruation, deep and tight pulse, and a thin, white, and fluid tongue coating. Uterine cold is the name of a disease under the theory of traditional Chinese medicine and cannot be equated with the specific names of diseases in Western medicine. However, some common acute and chronic gynecological inflammations in Western clinical medicine (such as vaginitis, cervicitis, endometritis, adnexitis, etc.) can be treated with uterine cold syndrome differentiation, and good results have been achieved in clinical practice.

2. How to regulate uterine cold

(1) Eat foods that warm the body. If you have a congenital cold uterus, you should eat more qi-replenishing and body-warming foods, such as walnuts, dates, and peanuts, so that the congenital deficiency can be made up by the acquired high energy. And you don't have to worry about getting a sore throat, because the cold uterus constitution is characterized by insufficient fire energy, and it is not easy to have symptoms of heat in the body.

(2) Keep walking at a brisk pace. Women who are planning to get pregnant can usually insist on brisk walking, especially walking on cobblestone roads, which can stimulate the meridians and acupoints on the soles of the feet, dredge the meridians, regulate qi and blood, improve blood circulation, and warm the whole body.

(3) Keep warm during and after exercise, especially after sweating, as the pores open and the cold can easily enter. If the uterus is affected by the cold, the blood and qi will coagulate when they encounter the cold, resulting in symptoms of uterine cold.
