Can women have a physical examination during their menstrual period?

When you have your period, endocrine hormone drugs and urine tests will be affected. In addition, abnormalities in the breast may occur due to the secretion of hormones during menstruation. So can I have a routine physical examination during my menstrual period?

Can I have a routine physical examination during my menstrual period?

Many women will develop breast hyperplasia during their menstrual period due to various reasons. Some are pathological hyperplasia, while others will disappear on their own after the menstrual period. Therefore, it actually depends on what new items you want to check. If it is a routine physical examination at work, it is also recommended to do it 3-5 days after menstruation, which is more accurate.

Do not have sex the night before the test, because male semen and spermicide on the condom may appear in the test sample the next day, affecting the doctor's judgment. On the day of the physical examination, you should wear clothes that are convenient for examination. A skirt of appropriate length is the best choice.

Do not wear makeup. Take a shower the night before the examination. Do not wash the inside of the vagina. Do not use any medicines for treating vaginal infections or lubricants, etc., because this will wash away or cover up abnormal secretions and some potential tumor cells that can be detected through biopsy, affecting the doctor's accurate diagnosis.

Before the routine physical examination, you should record what you want to see your doctor and any conditions your doctor may need to know, including past medical history, menstrual experience in the past three months, problems during your menstrual period, problems with your relationship, and pregnancy experience over the years.

The following reasons are not recommended for girls to undergo physical examinations during their menstrual period:

1. Women should not do urine tests during their menstrual period or ovulation period, because the shape of blood cells is destroyed and the number will also change.

2. When doing a gynecological examination during menstruation, holding urine will greatly destroy the shape of blood cells, and the pH value in the urine will also change.

3. Gynecological examinations cannot be separated from examinations of women's private parts. Women who are in their menstrual period have relatively weak systemic and local resistance. In addition, the uterine wall peels off and bleeds to produce wounds, and the cervix stretches, all of which open the door for the invasion of microorganisms.
