What to do if you have joint pain after abortion

Nowadays, people born in the 1980s and 1990s do not pay much attention to health care after miscarriage. In fact, the body of mothers who have just given birth is sensitive, and the body often feels various discomforts. Pain in finger joints after giving birth is a type of joint pain after giving birth, and it is also a very common condition. According to traditional Chinese medicine, joint pain after childbirth is related to deficiency of blood and nutrition, stagnation of blood, or retention of cold and dampness. Let’s discuss what to do with joint pain after abortion.

Why do finger joints hurt after abortion?

If a new mother gives birth too early, does too much housework, holds the baby for too long, or comes into contact with cold water, it will put stress on the joints, tendons and tendons, causing pain in the wrist and finger joints, which is clinically known as "stenotic bursitis of the wrist tendon."

Due to changes in the body's endocrine system, new mothers' hand muscles and tendons will have varying degrees of reduced strength and elasticity, and the supporting force of the articular cartilage and tendons around the joints will weaken, which will cause the joints to become loose and their functions to weaken. It is the fundamental cause of joint pain in hands and feet for new mothers.

Solution:

Grasping, holding, twisting, pinching, etc. will cause or aggravate wrist pain, and in severe cases it will continue to affect sleep quality. The pain is sometimes like neuralgia, going up the arm and down to the end of the thumb. More serious cases will be long-lasting and difficult to heal.

1. If you experience joint pain or body aches, you need to rest in bed and ensure adequate sleep. The time spent on the ground should not be too long, and the intensity should not be too great, so as not to aggravate the pain symptoms. The room should be kept dry and ventilated, but pregnant women should avoid direct hair dryer to prevent cold from invading and aggravating the condition. In addition, pregnant women should pay attention to keeping warm. They should not sleep on bamboo mats or mats in summer, and the temperature should not be too low.

2. Because the body aches or joint pains of pregnant women after giving birth are mostly caused by obstructed blood circulation or wind-cold, pregnant women with obstructed blood circulation should eat more nutritious foods, such as beef liver, beef, chicken breast, dried longan, jujube, red beans, etc.; and pregnant women with wind-cold should eat more spicy and warm foods that can dispel the cold, such as ginger slices, onion roots, brown sugar, and some easily digestible fish and meat products, and should avoid eating cold foods. If a pregnant woman experiences severe joint pain or body aches after giving birth, she should see a doctor as soon as possible.
