What causes breast swelling? Be careful about these reasons

Chest distension generally refers to breast distension, which may be accompanied by symptoms of pain. Many people want to know what causes breast swelling. There is a certain relationship between chest pain and the duration of pain. If the chest pain is close to the menstrual period, it is physiological pain.

1. Stimulation of female hormones

About 10 days before menstruation, the corpus progesterone increases, causing the body's water and salt to accumulate in the pelvic cavity, lower body, breasts, etc. At this time, there will be swelling and pain in the breasts, which is medically known as "premenstrual syndrome." In other words, about 10 days before menstruation, you are likely to experience breast tenderness, lower abdominal pain, and low mood. Once menstruation comes, the symptoms will gradually disappear. This distension and pain can be relieved with painkillers. In severe cases, diuretics can even be used to help excrete water and reduce the degree of breast swelling. However, the edema caused by hormones is usually not very severe.

2. Wearing an ill-fitting bra

Some girls continue to wear the same bras as their breasts grow and develop, which squeezes their breasts and causes pain. Sometimes it's because the bra size doesn't fit, and the steel wire at the bottom doesn't fit the breast, so it presses on the ribs under the breast and causes pain. So girls should remember that as they get older, their bodies will change and their bras need to be changed accordingly. Don’t think you are smart and just “remain unchanged in the face of ever-changing circumstances”!

3. Caused by trauma

Some girls feel that their breasts develop slowly and they do not need to wear bras yet. However, when they are taking physical education classes or running on weekdays, collisions or shocks are inevitable, resulting in bleeding in the subcutaneous tissue of the breast and causing pain. This situation can be improved by applying ice immediately, otherwise applying some medicine can also help heal sooner.
