Cervical erosion has become a common gynecological disease among women. This disease can cause great harm to women. If a woman has cervical erosion, no matter how severe it is, she should pay attention to her sexual life to avoid worsening the condition. 1. Clinically, cervicitis is divided into two categories: acute and chronic, and their causes are different. Acute cervicitis is mostly caused by the infection of the cervix after pathogens enter the damaged area. Bad hygiene habits and unclean sexual intercourse are indeed a major cause, but they are not the only cause. Abortion, cesarean section and some gynecological surgeries performed through the cervix, such as diagnostic curettage, IUD insertion and IUD removal, can cause cervical damage, leading to the entry of pathogens into the damaged area, and thus can also cause cervicitis. In order to clean, some women excessively or inappropriately use high-concentration acidic or alkaline solutions to irrigate the vagina, which disrupts the balance of normal vaginal flora and may also cause acute cervicitis. 2. When acute cervicitis occurs, purulent leucorrhea often occurs, sometimes mixed with blood. The attacks are often accompanied by back pain and lower abdominal pain. If acute cervicitis is not treated promptly and thoroughly, it will turn into chronic cervicitis. 3. There are many types of chronic cervicitis, the most common of which is cervical erosion. Cervical erosion does not mean that the cervix is really "rotten", but it means that the cervical epithelium falls off and is replaced by another type of columnar epithelium. This columnar epithelial tissue looks like "erosion" to the naked eye. 4. Patients with mild cervical erosion may not show obvious clinical symptoms, or may only have a slight increase in leucorrhea, so it is often ignored. Cervical erosion in many patients is discovered during physical examinations or when they seek medical treatment for other gynecological diseases. As the disease progresses, most patients may experience increased vaginal discharge, yellow color, and thick texture. If accompanied by polyp formation, the vaginal discharge may sometimes contain blood, or there may be bleeding during sexual intercourse. Inflammatory leucorrhea can cause long-term irritation to the vulva and may also cause vulvar pruritus. Severe chronic cervicitis can also spread to the pelvic connective tissue, causing low back pain and lower abdominal pain. |
