How to regulate luteal insufficiency? Three points to know

Luteal insufficiency has an impact on female fertility. Women need sufficient progesterone. The luteal phase is calculated from the time when the female's body temperature drops after ovulation. If luteal insufficiency occurs, it needs to be adjusted.

It can be used for patients who have poor secretion phase in endometrial biopsy or who are confirmed to have luteal insufficiency through clinical observation.

The specific method is:

① Insert a 25mg progesterone vaginal suppository deep into the vagina or rectum, once in the morning and once in the evening, for self-use by the patient.

It starts 2 days after the basal body temperature rises (the 16th or 17th day of the menstrual cycle) and ends when menstruation occurs.

② Progesterone oil, 10 mg intramuscularly injected daily, or 20 mg intramuscularly injected every other day, used from the second day after the basal body temperature rises.

③Synthetic progesterone: 2 mg of progesterone acetate, 3 times a day, or 5 mg every night. Start taking the medicine 2 days after the basal body temperature rises.

The time for taking progesterone supplementation therapy to treat infertility is generally recommended to start taking the drug 2 to 3 days after ovulation.

Even for habitual early miscarriage, medication should be started 2 to 3 days after ovulation, just like treating infertile patients.

As for the time to stop taking the medicine, some scholars believe that it should be stopped on the 14th day after ovulation to prevent false pregnancy.

Some people also advocate taking the medicine only when menstruation comes.

If menstruation is delayed and there is no onset, a pregnancy test can be done. If pregnancy is confirmed, the drug should be continued until the 12th week of gestation.

As for the treatment with synthetic progesterone, whether it is injection or oral, it cannot replace
