When women reach menopause, they usually experience symptoms of amenorrhea, such as a significant decrease in menstrual volume or even direct menopause, greater mood swings, a rapid decline in physical function, and even the onset of multiple diseases. There are many other symptoms besides these. 1. Menstrual changes Changes in the menstrual cycle are the earliest clinical symptoms of perimenopause. There are three types: 1) The menstrual cycle is prolonged, the menstrual volume decreases, and finally menopause occurs. 2) Women’s menstrual cycles will become irregular, the menstrual period will be prolonged, and the menstrual flow will increase. Some patients may even experience heavy bleeding or continuous bleeding, which will then gradually decrease until it stops. 3) Sudden cessation of menstruation is less common. Because the ovaries do not ovulate, estrogen levels fluctuate, making endometrial cancer more likely to occur. For patients with abnormal bleeding, a diagnostic curettage should be performed to rule out malignant transformation. 2. Vasomotor symptoms The main manifestations are hot flashes and sweating, which are manifestations of unstable vasomotor function and the most prominent characteristic symptoms of menopausal syndrome. It can occur in about 3/4 of women who experience natural menopause or artificial menopause. Hot flashes start in the chest, move to the head and neck, and then spread throughout the body. In a few women, hot flashes are only confined to the head, neck, and breasts. Patients experience burning sensation and redness of the skin in the area of the flush, followed by explosive sweating. For most female patients, the duration is different, ranging from a few seconds to a few minutes. And it happens about 30 to 50 times a day. It is triggered at night or when you are emotionally excited. Most women have different durations of disease This vascular instability can last for 1 year, sometimes up to 5 years or longer. 3. Symptoms such as decreased libido, breast atrophy, loss of axillary and pubic hair, and infertility are mostly caused by insufficient secretion of gonadotropin. 4. Symptoms such as fatigue, anorexia, weight loss, and syncope are mostly caused by insufficient secretion of adrenocorticotropic hormone. 5. Symptoms such as chills, pale and dry skin, bradycardia, low blood pressure, slow reaction, drowsiness, dementia, and apathy are mostly caused by insufficient secretion of thyroid stimulating hormone. |
