The clinical symptoms of vulvitis, the following two aspects will help you understand

Nowadays, vulvitis is a common gynecological disease that can cause a variety of symptoms such as redness, swelling, itching and pain in the vulvar skin. Vulvitis can be divided into acute and chronic types. So what are the symptoms of vulvitis?

1. Chronic vulvitis

1. Initially, there may be discomfort in the vulva. As the disease progresses, itching and pain in the vulva gradually appear. Some patients may experience swelling and congestion of the vulva.

2. The vulva and urethra are located in adjacent organs. If inflammation occurs, it may lead to urethritis, which requires attention.

3. Vulvar itching, skin thickening, roughness, and cracking, accompanied by symptoms such as urination pain or sexual intercourse pain

2. Acute vulvitis

1. The patient first feels discomfort in the vulva, followed by itching and pain, or a burning sensation.

2. At the same time, the skin and mucous membranes of the vulva (including the labia majora, labia minora, and clitoris) may become swollen and congested to varying degrees.

3. In severe cases, erosions, ulcers, or large areas of eczema may occur, accompanied by pain and discomfort during urination.

4. In addition, when folliculitis occurs in the vulva, the vulva may become severely swollen and painful due to the occurrence of abscesses, and then a furuncle may form.

5. Herpes virus infection, the onset is acute, the herpes breaks and turns into ulcers accompanied by fever, swollen inguinal lymph nodes and general discomfort. The base of the ulcer is grayish yellow, with obvious congestion and edema. It can heal on its own but often recurs, which is also one of the symptoms of acute vulvitis.
