What causes frequent urination and back pain in women?

Frequent urination is an abnormal phenomenon. Recently, many female patients who went to the hospital for medical examination reported symptoms such as frequent urination and low back pain, which shows that the incidence rate is relatively high. Usually, the symptoms that occur in male friends are unique to prostatitis. So what does frequent urination cause for female friends? Let’s take a closer look at why.

Frequent urination and low back pain are mainly considered to be urinary tract infection. Urinary tract infection refers to chronic lower urinary tract infection, which is caused by long-term or repeated attacks of hot stranguria, accumulation of evil toxins, and deficiency of qi and yin, often due to fatigue or external infection. Urinary tract infection can be divided into upper urinary tract infection and lower urinary tract infection. The former is pyelonephritis and the latter is mainly cystitis. Pyelonephritis and cystitis can be divided into acute and chronic types. Depending on the presence or absence of underlying diseases, urinary tract infections can be divided into complicated urinary tract infections and uncomplicated urinary tract infections.

This disease is more common in women of childbearing age, with a male to female ratio of approximately 1:8. Clinical manifestations include the following three groups.

1. Cystitis: commonly referred to as lower urinary tract infection. The main manifestation of cystitis in adult women is urinary tract irritation, i.e. frequent urination, urgency, pain, leukocytosis, occasional hematuria, even macroscopic hematuria, and discomfort in the bladder area. Generally there are no obvious systemic infection symptoms, but a few patients may have low back pain, low fever, and the white blood cell count is often not increased. About 30% of cystitis is self-limiting and can heal itself within 7 to 10 days.

2. Acute pyelonephritis: The symptoms include the following two groups of symptoms:

Urinary system symptoms: including bladder irritation symptoms such as frequent urination, urgency, and pain during urination, as well as back pain and/or lower abdominal pain;

Symptoms of systemic infection: such as chills, fever, headache, nausea, vomiting, loss of appetite, etc.

3. Chronic pyelonephritis: The course of chronic pyelonephritis is very hidden.

Symptoms of urinary tract infection: Only a small number of patients may experience intermittent symptomatic pyelonephritis, but the more common manifestations are intermittent asymptomatic bacteriuria, and/or intermittent symptoms of lower urinary tract infection such as urgency and frequency of urination, waist and abdominal discomfort, and/or intermittent low fever. Symptoms of chronic interstitial nephritis, such as hypertension, polyuria, increased nocturia, and susceptibility to dehydration. Symptoms of chronic kidney disease.

4. Atypical urinary tract infection:

The main manifestations are systemic acute infection symptoms, while local urinary tract symptoms are not obvious; urinary tract symptoms are not obvious, but the main manifestations are acute abdominal pain and gastrointestinal dysfunction symptoms; hematuria, mild fever and low back pain are the main manifestations, etc.

From this we can see that the symptoms of frequent urination and lower back pain in women are mainly caused by urinary tract infection. When urination is too frequent, you should pay attention to whether the urine is too dark yellow or has hematuria. When diagnosed with urinary tract infection, in addition to strictly taking medication, you should also pay attention to private hygiene and drink more boiled water.
