What to do if your joints crack after giving birth

What to do if your joints crack after giving birth

A woman has to go through several roles in her life. The most difficult and greatest role should be becoming a mother. After experiencing the hardship of ten months of pregnancy and the pain of childbirth, she finally becomes a great mother. After giving birth, as a new mother, she must not only take care of her own emotions but also take care of the baby's life. New mothers will encounter various problems during or after the confinement period. Here is one of the most common problems: cracking joints after giving birth.

Generally speaking, if there is only a clicking sound but no redness or swelling on the surface, no pain, and no movement disorder, it is physiological clicking and does not require special treatment, nor is there any need to be overly anxious about it. When the joints move, friction and sound will always occur between the articular surfaces, between the cartilage pads and the articular surfaces, between the tendons and the joint capsules, etc. In most people, this sound is not obvious, but in some people it is clearer. Especially for those who sit for a long time, less lubricating fluid is produced between the joints, which increases the friction loss of the joints and makes it more likely to hear the popping sound. When accompanied by pain or limited joint movement, you need to go to the hospital to determine whether the joint is dislocated or damaged.

Normal joints have negative pressure when at rest. When the joint becomes inflamed and the cavity pressure increases, in addition to causing pain, it is also detrimental to the survival of chondrocytes. On the contrary, the contraction and retraction of the quadriceps muscle will reduce knee pressure and help slow down joint degeneration. Therefore, being able to perform appropriate tendon stretching exercises to reduce joint cavity pressure should theoretically be able to effectively improve joint degeneration. Some yoga movements may coincide with this. As for the sounds caused by joint degeneration and pathology, such as degenerative arthritis, cartilage erosion, and meniscus cartilage rupture of the knee joint, the sounds are usually accompanied by other symptoms and pathological changes. They are not the joint sounds described in this article and should not be confused. You should still seek medical treatment in the right way to avoid delays.

If you catch a cold during the confinement period, or if you often hold your baby in one arm to feed him, you can adjust it through Chinese medicine. If the condition is serious, it is best to go to a regular hospital for examination. Do not lift heavy objects. Take care of your mood after giving birth. A mother's bad mood and unstable emotions will affect the baby and will not be good for her own condition. You can take appropriate calcium supplements, do outdoor exercises, take more walks, and get enough sun to adjust your body functions.
