Look at the color: Sesame paste made from pure white sesame seeds is light yellow, while sesame paste made from yellow and white sesame seeds is fine, non-granular, and brown-yellow. If the color of the paste is gray, it means the quality is poor.

Smell: Good quality sesame paste has a strong sesame aroma. Sesame paste mixed with peanut butter has a distinct peanut oil smell, and sesame paste mixed with sunflower seeds has a distinct sunflower oil smell.

Taste: Good quality sesame paste tastes sweet after entering the mouth. If it tastes bitter, it means the product quality is poor.

Appearance: Good quality sesame paste feels smooth and has no granules. When scooped with a spoon, the sesame paste flows down in a line and contains a lot of oil. If the paste feels rough and falls in lumps when scooped with a spoon, the quality is poor.
