As the saying goes, it takes ten months for a woman to give birth to a child. But in reality, the pregnancy period is not actually ten months. Generally speaking, the number of days a woman is pregnant is calculated based on 28 days in a month. In other words, each month is based on 4 weeks of pregnancy. Because every pregnant woman cannot accurately determine the time of pregnancy, medicine requires that the expected date of delivery be calculated from the first day of the last menstrual period. The entire pregnancy period is 280 days, or 10 months (28 days per month). Pregnant women who give birth between 38 and 42 weeks of pregnancy can be considered full-term. Because each woman's menstrual cycle is of different length, it is normal for the estimated due date to differ from the actual due date by 1 to 2 weeks.

The beginning of pregnancy can be determined in a number of ways. One is to detect the male hormones produced by newly formed embryos. Clinical urine and blood tests can detect pregnancy within 6-8 days after conception. Home urine tests usually take 12-15 days to detect effectively. Both of these methods can only detect pregnancy but cannot tell the time of pregnancy. Pregnancy can also be confirmed by the cessation of menstruation. The menstrual period stops earlier than any early pregnancy symptoms (such as morning sickness). In fact, doctors usually calculate the pregnancy date (that is, the "age" of the test tube embryo) based on the first day of the previous menstrual period reported by the woman. Unless you have very little sexual intercourse, it is difficult to know the exact time of pregnancy.

Because the pregnancy time is basically the same, the test tube embryo and the fetus are only distinguished scientifically and are not easy to distinguish in an actual pregnancy. Pregnancy can be further divided into the fertilization of the egg cell by the male sperm in the fallopian tubes and the subsequent implantation.

Women usually give birth to their own products after 280 days of pregnancy. However, the due date is usually different from the actual delivery time, and sometimes there will be a difference of one or two weeks. This is all normal, and pregnant mothers do not need to worry.
